Ok mate, my very best friend who I met at at age 11 at School (62 now) was diagnosed in 2015 with this horrible disease. He went to the Doc’s as soon as symptoms appeared, wanted to pee all the time and when he did there was no “motor” it just dribbled. Unfortunately for him the cancer had already spread into his pelvis so there was no point in removing the gland. He was put on hormone treatment and given radiotherapy. He was also in the care of Christie and Stepping Hill which is the GM specialist Prostate centre.
We shared a room on a golf break in summer of 2015 and he broke down saying thought he had just a couple of years left. He’s still here, we play golf, go to City games and have a few beers, I don’t know how he copes mentally but in the last 7 years he’s become a Granddad to 2 kids that his daughter’s have had and that’s made his life complete.
It’s scary evey 6 months when he gets checked for his PSA’s and scans on his cancer, the relief he gets is palpable.
Another golf pal aged 57 had his prostate removed last Monday, he's been told he should live a healthy live now as the cancer was just in the gland.
Sending my best wishes to you, it’s not a problem to put you un touch with my two pals, Paul and Barney, great lads and Blues, we’re at City every home game, take care fella, you’ll live with this, hopefully for many years.
Edit: Also, if you live Glossop way (user name?) we run a bus to the Etihad every home game from the Sycamore next to Stamford Park Ashton, you are more than welcome to call in and meet up
