Prostate cancer

I went to see Mr Jaffer (anyone had him as their surgeon??) last week and decided that I was a good candidate for prostatectomy given my increasing PSA, age, fitness and localisation of the cancer. I feel very positive about the decision but a little apprehensive about what comes next in life.
I will have a life left to come though so I'll deal with it.
Should get a date in 6 weeks or so.
Good luck mate.

Lost my cousin to it 2 weeks ago. I'd flown home for funeral of my aunt (aged 93 and last of that generation). My cousin (from different side of family) passed away from prostate cancer 2 days after her. It's been tough few weeks family wise

I had my radical prostatectomy on Tuesday in Stepping Hill. It was a robotic assisted procedure. I stayed in overnight but been home since. Very sore around the ‘keyholes’ and can’t wait to get rid of the catheter but glad I did it. They managed to avoid the nerves so I should regain full ‘function’ in time. Few more steps before this chapter closes but on the right path. All the best to everyone who is going through this condition, directly or in support of someone. It matters, I can assure you x
