Protest v Wolves

I will never be comfortable with match day prices as high as they are currently. They’re turning away local Blues who might choose to attend on the day and the future generations.
As long as VAR persists, the costs will only go up, because it's not just the up front costs, it's the maintaining of the system, and the future expansion of the system. What happens when they start demanding more accuracy, that chip-less SAOT is too inaccurate. What happens if the PL strikes a deal with Adidas. That's gonna cost a ton of more money. Who do you think is gonna pay for that? We already have hugely increased costs for not just the technology but for all the additional "Jobs" of the VARs throughout the PL that fans have to pay for.

We need to understand this is a growing monster. It's only going to get more expensive and those pushing it are going to need help from all the clubs that are using it to pay for it. It's a nightmare. We really need to take a stand now before it becomes an even bigger problem.

Correction.

500 new Flexi-Gold season tickets.

Question.

What type of season tickets will the 4000 season tickets be? Flexi-Gold? Normal season tickets?
Selling season tickets to people who don't turn up is how we end up with an empty stadium.

Guarantee the stadium will be a lot more full next year with the flexi holders trying make sure they go to 16 games.

If the directors were ALWAYS going to release 4000 new FLEXI-GOLD season tickets for the new NSL2 as they have said, why didn't they announce that before the Leicester and Villa protests?
Why does it matter if they were going to or not?
They are doing.

You can't protest because someone might not have done something.

It's like protesting to get a manager sacked then when he is, saying that you want to continue protesting because he was only sacked because of the earlier protest. It's strange.

10 is fine mate, thanks, I thought I read in here something about 15. He’s got back for about 15 this season but that had been to the detriment of his lectures and seminars (not that he’s arsed) and his weekend social life (he’s a bit arsed)
I would be cautious with 10 the club has form for increasing the criteria, best to have his account on an available phone. That is till they bring in facial recognition, a part of me (after the initial euphoria of the concessions) is starting to wonder what the trade off is, and a bit of AI at the turnstiles is a possibility

No.

We end up with an empty stadium because Adults are charged £70+ for a ticket, and £30+ for an under 18 ticket.

The empty seats against Leicester, Villa, and tonight are testament to that.

No offence, but some people on here are totally oblivious of what's going on. And continue to be.

Why don't we just hold the protests for now? The club are clearly listening and Pep wants us theere from the first minute to get 3 crucial points to ensure CL qualification. Just because it has worked once it doesn't mean that its going to work every time. Get behind the team and if there are no improvements in match day pricing next season then start again.

Negotiations work both ways and both sides need to give a little, time to appreciate what the club are doing to try and address the issues we have, rather than continue to keep protesting.

Actually, he made a very good point. If you seriously believe that was always their intention - just like they claimed it was always their intention NOT to charge disabled season ticket holders for parking going forwards - then you must have "GULLIBLE" tattoed across your forehead

Need to remeber not all Flexi Gold buyers want a season ticket or buy it instead of a season ticket, they are just match day fans that go to 10 games and a FG makes it much cheaper than 10 match day tickets. As long as a FG does this and can be a pathway to a SC with the fee refunded if they do 16 games it's a usefull addition. There should be new SC too and it seems there are going to be. Think any protest should be suspended and see what City Matters say myself. But I'm not there tonight anyway.

November 1987 I was living & working in that London.
Decided on the Friday afternoon to come home for the weekend, it was always last minute due to pressures of the job.

Popped along to Maine Road, paid at the gate and stood on The Kippax.

Nobody has the option to just ‘turn up’ anymore - imagine missing a 10-1 score line just because you didn’t have the right card/membership or some such claptrap.

IIRC though we did have to sign up to some kind of membership due to the milk snatcher/dipper love in at the time.

The protest and threat of further ones have made the club listen and clearly has empowered those in the club who are on the side of the fans, this is now a powerful tool with the fans gaining more respect inside the club and credit to all those who have been on the forefront Going forward we must ensure that this is maintained and insist that the dialog with the club in future is meaningful, City Matters must meaning something. In light of the dialog and the announcement last night I would vote for the protest tonight to be postponed, not canceled, and this made clear that as a gesture of goodwill but, the fans will hold the club to task in the future
So, well done everyone
Tis a good post this

Why does it matter? Because the directors are playing he fans. If as they say, there were always going to be 4000 new season tickets, announce that. Don't wait until the last City Matters meeting to announce it for some good supporter PR. Whilst completely ignoring the other issues that have been highlighted by the protests and have been completely ignored by the directors. You're obviously easily persuaded and pleased.

Time to move on.

No that's not right. "and that the majority of the additional GA seating capacity will be held by Season Ticket Members, through the release of new Season Tickets. "
In all honesty, they could still twist that to be topping up relocations to + 4k, the devils in the detail I suppose, would be great if @Alex - City Matters or anyone else involved in the discussions could offer clarity, I suspect they’ll be like the rest of us

If there was ever a moment to join forces with Wolves fans, this would be it. All the ingredients are here to take a real stand against the dark forces who are trying to destroy football. Make a Wolves friend tonight.

Wolves have been the lone voice of reason throughout these dark times. They tried so hard to fight against this madness and put football back right. If there's ever been another fanbase that we can respect and relate to it would certainly be Wolves. Wolves are the eternal heroes for standing up against VAR. What a statement could be made for City and Wolves fans to unite for one night to fight for all of our football future.

As you probably know, I've been heavily involved with the protests. I think it should still go ahead, because it keeps the pressure on regarding some outstanding issues. The main one for me now - though not the only one - is match day pricing and I know this personally affects you.

However, like you I'm not there tonight as I'll be at the Manics gig at The Apollo so I suppose it's easier for me (and you) to say whether we think it should or shouldn't go ahead when neither of us are there tonight

We could use some F VAR chants tonight with City and Wolves fans singing as one. And I would like to see a traditional kickoff to start the match please.

So, 500 new ST's next season and another 4,000 when the new stand is open and the usual miserable buggers are still whingeing? Yep, sounds like Bluemoan to me.
It's certainly a start but there's still the issue of matchday ticket pricing. The cheapest full adult ticket for tonight is £71. At Arsenal that cheapest ticket would be £43. At Anfield you wouldn't pay more than £61 to watch a game, and that's from the best general admission seats in their main stand.

We may have won a couple of battles but the war isn't over. As @M18CTID says above, we need to keep the pressure on regarding the outstanding issues.

As I understand it, the “majority” refers to the new additional seats opened up by the North Stand expansion. So, the additional tickets may not all end up being in the North Stand per se (after relocations) but they will be new tickets.
