Weve dropped 22 points from winning positions in the prem and cl this season , unheard of in our period of dominance , drastic changes are needed obviously
The sad fact is Blue these players have come to the end of the cycle and we need a rebuild, which has started, Blues need to be patient, it's going to take a bit of time.On my part it’s frustration, I think. Frustration because again, we lost a two goal cushion. As we have done a few times this season. Seeing us not being able to match teams for energy when it was only 18 months ago we were producing a display when it mattered most aka against Real Madrid and the team really wasn’t very different than that team last night, if I’m not very much mistaken.
Agreed... I don't "want" us to go out but it's a harsh reality atm... We're not where we need to beWell, I hesitated to post it — I'll be virulently accused of not getting behind the team, being a traitor, etc. — but I'll admit I've been thinking it since last night.
“Do us good”? Well, I wouldn't exactly put it like that. But I am utterly convinced that we have a maybe 5% chance of winning the thing this year, even if we do somehow go through. My feeling is that we concentrate on getting top four — and that is far from being easy, it sort of depends on Chelsea and/or Forest dropping off, and why after all bet on that? — and having a good run in the Cup.
We absolutely don't have the players, the legs, to be in three demanding competitions and go deep. That is now crystal clear to me.
Next week I'll be cheering on the lads, because that's what you do on the night. You don't choose it.

If we've only got a 5% chance of winning it, won't we go out soon enough anyway?Well, I hesitated to post it — I'll be virulently accused of not getting behind the team, being a traitor, etc. — but I'll admit I've been thinking it since last night.

At this point it feels like pre-season for next year starts now. The more games we have the better it will be come August. Let's see where some of these young lads are in their development.Agreed... I don't "want" us to go out but it's a harsh reality atm... We're not where we need to be
Let's hope that we show some bouncebackability
I haven't seen that tbh. He seems pretty average in midfield and in defence he looks completely out of his depth.Yes, Lewis was one of our best players in the early part of the season , playing out of position due to our bizzare obsession with not signing full backs
He’s also a kid that will have their ups and downs due to form , but he will come back as he’s got loads of talent
Agreed, but it's no good people slagging off bernardo, gundo, walker akanji and kdb. They have given us some great moments, football careers end, it's just they all seem to have hit the buffers at the same time. The sad fact is Blue these players have come to the end of the cycle and we need a rebuild, which has started, Blues need to be patient, it's going to take a bit of time.
He's the fans new Richard Edgehill. For reasons I don't understand fans love to single out a player and that's that.Good post. The amount of negative comments this lad got last night was unjustified. Almost like a crescendo raining in on him on the match day forum. Not nice at all.
It's a tough one having a go at Nunes for not getting his right back role figured. If we put any other midfielder in that position it would be a bigger mess. I seem to remember Ferna being destroyed at right back. It's on Pep and only Pep for choosing to play him there
Fernandinho was 36. There's a difference
Surely Walker should have been RB tonight??
We are still paying his wages aren’t we???
He could have made a difference, if he hung back and defended deeper than usual??!!
Walker wants out. He's been dropped several times, a fan abused him & the gossip pages won't stop reporting the latest rant from his ex mistress. He needs a fresh start. He wants to leave & City are helping to facilitate this.
HOWEVER, there's STILL no concrete plan to furnish our squad with proper raiding right & left backs. It seems we're still going with a defence full of CB's. The squad rethink & rebuild is underway. We'll only know properly if Pep intends to persist with not having specialist FB's after the summer window closes.
To be honest, I'm tired of seeing us using CB's & midfielders in FB positions. At the point where Pep needed to deploy Bernardo at LB, is the point where the penny should've dropped that the wide areas of defence are as important an issue to be addressed as central defence.
You’re literally obsessed with Walker. Get help mate.

just cant bring myself to bet for or against us everAt 2 nil up last night PSG were 6-1 to win. I gave it serious thoughts but my heart wouldn't allow me to place the bet. CTID
True, although I think, surrounded by younger legs, KDB still has a role to play in the side.Agreed, but it's no good people slagging off bernardo, gundo, walker akanji and kdb. It is not dropping that is the problem, it is the manner how we dropped them. Arsenal, Brighton, Tottenham, Feyenoord, Sporting, United, Brentford and now PSG last nigh and I am sure we'll see more by the end of the season.Weve dropped 22 points from winning positions in the prem and cl this season , unheard of in our period of dominance , drastic changes are needed obviously
Heads dropped last night the moment the first goal went it. They knew as well as we did what was coming. It is not dropping that is the problem, it is the manner how we dropped them. I am ok with losing games when the opposition is better , but I so depressed how we seem to loose or draw every single one. It is always a mini-collapse in a very short period time where the players, who are so tied up in "the system", are not able to reach within their human, individual spirit, to overcame difficulties. And that incessant talk after every single game, just shut the feck up, we all se what is going on.
It is all on Pep he started fucking up everything some time ago, Arsenal collapsing for two consecutive season helped a lot to lull us into thinking about our everlasting greatness. But claxons were out when Rodri was out for a few games last season, or that we didn't manage a win against majority of bigger teams.
I think a geezer who is sitting two rows below me had a point when he remarked some time ago, that our downward spiral started with that CL final against Inter.
I was there watching Dickov knee slide across Wembley. And wore a plastic see through bin bag whilst the Kippax was being built.I'd like to see the age range of these inpatient fans.
I can't believe he was shovelled back in to the match last night after his shit shows in Lisbon, the home game with Feyenoord and his poor performance in Turin v Juve...awful in our last 3 CL games yet walks straight back in to the team last night....and turns in another half-arsed performance. That is on Pep.He was rubbish.
The keeper position has highlighted how muddled the thinking has been this season.
