PSG Away Ticket details - Update now 2,200 tickets available

Blimey, the club can't win can they? They are apparently trying to stop points 'whoring', which people have been shouting about & causing arguments about, by getting people to pick up their tickets in person at a designated point but that's not right for some because they (the club) aren't in the right place/time!

No wonder when I mention to people that I've read/written something on Bluemoon they say; you mean Bluemoan!! :-)
I really hate it (and I know squirtyflower does as well) when people come on and disparage other posters by either making comments that are pure hyperbole or that pick out a small point that someone might have made and exaggerate it into a sweeping generalisation.

I think most on here have welcomed the move wholeheartedly. Yes there will be some inconvenience to some but I think they see it as a small price to pay for a fairer distribution system that ensures people who actually are going to the game get the chance to buy tickets ahead of those who simply want the points.

To answer few of your points:

I think the scale has surprised most of us to be honest.

That's a bit of a generalisation. There are some SC's where the allocation system is fair and transparent, even if it's not done on the basis of ticket points. But there are some where that clearly doesn't apply.

As Bill said, we do our best to police it and that has come about after many, sometimes heated, discussions. We keep a close eye on things and usually only allow people to advertise spares when it's too late to return them. We also don't allow people to ask for tickets before they'e sold out and neither do we allow people to advertise that they can get tickets. Plus anyone selling regularly is identified and banned.

Another issue is the delicate subject of deceased Seasoncard holders (I remember United once estimating that they had around 1800, and declaring an armistice, because it was all getting out of hand)

If our loyalty points system has been going for around 15 years, then it’s naive to argue that our fans aren’t doing something similar ( family/friend/neighbour continuing to use the card etc)

Bizarrely, somebody could have been to every game, home and away for 10 years, yet still struggle for a PSG Ticket, because it isn’t their name on the card.
Not sure that's "Points whoring" though. Perhaps we need another name?

I just hope the club continues with this policy for away games in Europe. I'm not going to Paris but I'd have been in line for a ticket this morning had I been going which isn't something I expected.

Some domestic games are just as bad so hopefully the club can look into doing something there also.

Loads of games still go to low points and open sale so there's still loads of opportunity for supporters to go to games and gain their own points.

On a low level points Seasoncard you'd have got to at least 12 domestic away games this season plus trips to juventus & Kiev

I know somebody in exactly that position, who took over someone elses card, but can't go, having booked travel etc, he didn't change the name on his ticket. I'm sure there are hundreds.

It'll be interesting to see what happens if we get to the final, they might have 12,000+ picking up tickets in Milan, that could be absolute chaos.

That could be a real problem. Doing it with allocations of 2000-3000 is manageable and I did notice somewhere on this thread that the PSG tickets can also be collected the day before the game which staggers things further, but if we get to the final and they employ this system it could take hours and hours, and for those on day trips that will be particularly unpalatable.

There would be no need for the final as surely everybody with the points would be looking to go or what was the point of using the system to build up the points in the first place. Suspect majority on cup scheme would get a ticket ... be more interesting in future years when everyone drops our of cup scheme!!

You can just imagine our ticket office not really thinking it through fully though can't you ? Just a couple from the ticket office giving tickets out, on a hot summers day in Milan, queuing through the streets for your wristband, and people collapsing with heat exhaustion (that'll be my excuse anyway).
