PSG ticket prices - Protest options v West Brom.

Yet another one advocating that we have absolutely no stake in Manchester City, parroting the narrative of modern corporate executives that football clubs are nothing more than franchises and that we're just customers.

Even managed to suggest starting up a breakaway club and fucking off to support someone else if we don't like it. Lovely stuff.

Absolutely pathetic that you can parrot this kind of rationale.

The discontent is there, you just want everyone to keep quiet about it and keep it under wraps. Soriano will be delighted that people like you are arguing his cause.

As I've already said in response to another of your posts, which you ignored and seemingly had no response to, a protest about ticket prices set by the likes of Soriano would not be a protest against Sheikh Mansour. If anything it'd be an appeal to him above Soriano's head, as Soriano is not keeping the promise Sheikh Mansour made in his open letter to the supporters is 2008, to always do right by the supporters. Sheikh Mansour might be unaware of this discontent for all we know, and be under the impression that all is rosy, he's not involved in the day to day running of the club, so either way, the discontent will not be aimed at him.

As I said before, all your posts on this topic are just designed to peddle a narrative that anyone who believes a protest is necessary is an entitled ingrate who wants to attack Sheikh Mansour. It's dishonest nonsense, and everyone can see through it.

Ticket prices are a nationwide issue and we already have the support of several publications and journalists in protesting ours specifically, no one interprets it as an attack on our ownership, that's a narrative you're trying to peddle to shame other blues into keeping schtum as ticket prices continue to go up and our support is damaged by the policies of Soriano and other faceless bean counters like Glick.

That, IMO, is shameful.

You're complicit in it.

What would happen if there was a freeze on ST but single match tickets went up? Would ST holders be willing to join some type of protest for that? I only ask because most replies have been about ST, but not everyone can be a ST holder. There needs to be equal outrage over both prices imo. I've seen a few replies from those who have been priced out of ST and now can't afford to go very often because the single match tickets are too expensive.

For me, absolutely. I think maybe the PSG game has been more the straw that broke the camels back than a particular problem with the pricing for one game. Lots of issues that for me need to be discussed. ST prices, match day prices, childrens prices, cup schemes, platinum schemes. All very worthy topics for all blues, whether they are personally affected or not.

I remember West Brom protesting at our place a few years back over the price for that game, they got a lot of support outside the ground from blues.

It won't happen because prices are likely to increase in almost all instances. Besides, the specific debate has been triggered by obscene match ticket prices for PSG that Seasoncard holders will be paying too. I don't get a ticket for free after guaranteeing I want a seat for 19 league matches.

I read your post.

Your entire position can be summised as thus:

It's modern football, we don't have a stake in the club, we're just customers now. It was always that way really. Anyone who protests against ticket prices is an entitled ingrate who will be attacking Sheikh Mansour and risk him abandoning the club and City being shit again. We've never had it so good, pricing out the supporters makes business sense, it's a natural trade off. A protest against ticket prices set by Soriano would be blasphemous and the best thing you can all do is write a letter to Sheikh Mansour, in the absence of that you could always fuck off and support another club or start a breakaway rag type FC club. We're all customers now and that's just the way it is, personally I'm going to enjoy watching City with Pep, if you can't afford to because of these kind of ticket prices then tough luck I suppose.

Rdog. You are clearly very passionate about this issue and I admire you in many ways for your stance. I do think the club have started to take the piss a bit and a couple of the faceless bean counters have got things very wrong this last 18 months. However I don't think the season tickets are ridiculously priced. Hope they don't go up this season but the next kick off will be when the 93.20 and joes bars are set up at the north stand and a de emote hundred teir 2 regulars see their seat prices double. Think if the club just set ticket prices at the start of the season it would be great. Say 10 for league cups at home and 20 champions league rising maybe 5 to 10 pounds in the later rounds. You have to accept though a lot of people are less bothered about this than you.

I am building for next season now after my mini break. The thought of watching pogpa and the other fella from Dortmund beginning with g is exciting!

Can only speak for myself, but yes, as I have an interest in my fellow fan, a view that some don't seem to share.
