PSG ticket prices - Protest options v West Brom.

For me, absolutely. I think maybe the PSG game has been more the straw that broke the camels back than a particular problem with the pricing for one game. Lots of issues that for me need to be discussed. ST prices, match day prices, childrens prices, cup schemes, platinum schemes. All very worthy topics for all blues, whether they are personally affected or not.

I remember West Brom protesting at our place a few years back over the price for that game, they got a lot of support outside the ground from blues.

Seconded. As a ST holder, some of the match day prices over the past few years have shocked me and while I've admittedly not been too vocal about those, I've not been too vocal about the year on year price rise in my ST either even though it's gone up nearly 60% since 2010 for gold and nearly 70% for platinum. Like most fans I've accepted that that is largely a trade-off for us having a side that can realistically challenge for trophies in any given season. But there is only so much the fans can put up with until serous questions start to get asked by a sizeable chunk of regular match-goers. We've reached that point with the PSG game and like you say, it isn't just about this one game for me and many others although there are specific arguments with that game in particular (as alluded to by PB with his thoughts and by others with theirs such as the price of a PSG ticket for 16-21 year olds). You could say that PSG is a tipping point for a lot of fans and although many will still attend I suspect that a closer eye will be kept on future ticket prices, both ST and match day.

Rdog. You are clearly very passionate about this issue and I admire you in many ways for your stance. I do think the club have started to take the piss a bit and a couple of the faceless bean counters have got things very wrong this last 18 months. However I don't think the season tickets are ridiculously priced. Hope they don't go up this season but the next kick off will be when the 93.20 and joes bars are set up at the north stand and a de emote hundred teir 2 regulars see their seat prices double. Think if the club just set ticket prices at the start of the season it would be great. Say 10 for league cups at home and 20 champions league rising maybe 5 to 10 pounds in the later rounds. You have to accept though a lot of people are less bothered about this than you.

I am building for next season now after my mini break. The thought of watching pogpa and the other fella from Dortmund beginning with g is exciting!

Thanks for the kind words mate.

I think our season tickets are too expensive, but then I'm of the opinion that most top clubs season ticket prices are too expensive. I see this as a nationwide issue, but I see City, under Soriano's stewardship, as currently leading us towards the most negative model of ticket pricing/bean counting taking priority over the support.

We're a working class fanbase and we can't sustain these kind of annual increases every season without severely damaging that support, and I don't think it can be justified morally or even financially given the amount of money swirling around in the game at present.

No Premier League club should routinely have individual adult ticket prices at £50, which we do, and many other clubs do also. No one should be paying more than £600 for a season ticket to watch 19 league games.

Football has gone way too far from the ordinary supporter in this country, and I don't think it's on.

They laugh at us in Germany, they really do. They amount of shit we put up with.

I see the current climate as ample time to redress this balance back towards the ordinary supporter, and I think it's something we should all passionately care about as blues.

I don't want to see our match crowd become everything we used to ridicule the rags for, to see pubs full of blues on weekends when City are playing at home, blues who used to go but can no longer afford to, or would like to go but can't afford to.

It's about time we stopped being so apathetic and recognised the road that bean counters like Soriano are taking us down. The appetite to redress this balance back to the supporter has never been greater than it is now in this country and we should all play and active role in it if we want what's best for this club. Because make no mistake, our support is what makes this club what it is.

Would you be happy to see if we got a 60000 seater stadium. 40000 at very reasonable prices and 20000 corporate prices?

No, 20k corporate is extremely excessive.

But I recognise the point you're making, people who want the corporate hospitality experience could subsidise ordinary blues, and it's a fair point.

I've nothing against people who can afford that premium arrangement, but I think everyone should be catered to, and that isn't the case at present.

yeah, I understand that PSG prices are the straw. I was just curious to see what people thought about other complaints since it looks like the majority on here are waiting for ST prices before deciding if they would join some type of protest, more than what 1894 have planned.

I remember about that West Brom and I agreed with that protest.

It won't happen because prices are likely to increase in almost all instances. Besides, the specific debate has been triggered by obscene match ticket prices for PSG that Seasoncard holders will be paying too. I don't get a ticket for free after guaranteeing I want a seat for 19 league matches.

I understand that, I just think it would a real shame if the club thought that by freezing ST prices they could stop any large scale complaints about other ticket prices.

I think it's important that fans show that they are not happy with the prices even if they might not be in that category, ie. age/single ticket etc. I would just hate for City to end up with a pricing structure like many teams here. I'm talking $150+, $400+ for a single ticket for teams that would've been relegated if it was possible and are and have been shite for quite a while.

I'm not suggesting we talk to the exec's. I thought we were trying to get a message direct to Shiekh Mansour? Isn't that the whole point?

Sheikh Mansour will have a postal address. He will also have a team that deals with his mail; politely declining invitations, sidelining suggestions etc. But there comes a tipping point where the message becomes sizeable enough that is brought to Sheikh Mansour's personal attention. To get to this tipping point we need a sizeable number of bluemooners to put pen to paper and coordinate this activity so that the mass volume of mail on this subject lands within a two week window. It's not rocket science, it just need fans who can be bothered to write a letter and someone to coordinate and track these letters and responses.

Surely this is preferable to a humiliating public display that would be manna from heaven to the press and paint Shiekh Mansour and the 'project' in a negative light.

Finally, please, please please don't say protesting against the club is not protesting against Sheikh Mansour. Sheikh Mansour bought City not because of some long standing love fair with the club but because we were a club in the right place at the right time to help him promote Abu Dhabi. We are in essence a PR project for Abu Dhabi and we are playing with fire if we start to generate negative press about the activities of the club and the discontent within the fan base despite everything we've been given. I'm sorry if some fans don't like that but we are 'the project' and the project has been created to draw attention to the people who made our amazing success possible. If you don't like it and still believe in the myth that we have ever owned the club then fine, start your own FC City.

Me personally, I'll stick to watching the next generation of superstars under the guidance of Pep Guardiola.

There are Companies who have bought several tickets in 93:20 who struggle to give their tickets away, except for the biggest games.

The expansion of Premium and Corporate seating pays for the £299 seats in the South Stand. However, there is not an unlimited supply of people / companies wishing to pay higher prices and Bluemooners keep saying we have a working class fan base!
