pubs showing rags over us tomorrow

Am I the only one that hates watching a City game in a pub?
They always seem to be full of numpty sky reds or some no nothing that just wants to rile anyone that is genuine in their support of a side playing.
Much prefer sitting in my own home watching it on either the TV or on the TV through a stream, add to that 48 cans of Bow for £20 is a lot better than paying £3 a pint and when it gets too stressful I dont have to go outside for a smoke.

Or bollocks to the habit and spend £200 on watching at home on the good old foreign sats!

No excuses not to show em its on tring and sky italia

Just bought one of those internet dongle thingys that give 5000 tv stations etc anyone got one and will it help me watch footy on the pc or have i just wasted £60 on something that will only enable me to watch more foreign porn?

I rang a bar in LA once to ask if they were showing City and they said yes. When I got there they had Man U on instead. Much easier watching online or on Fox sports for me.

-- Sat Nov 27, 2010 12:55 am --

United have got a much bigger fanbase in Manchester, or at least most parts of it, despite old myths. Makes sense.

What pisses me off is when some pubs show Liverpool, or even Spurs!

Please tell me this isn't true?

Which part is that? The bar I went to in LA to watch it had an owner who hadn't even heard of Manchester City and assumed when I rang that I meant Man U (this was last year). I told the dude that real Manchester people are City and left, never been back there either!

sunny dukinfield mate gorton droylsden denton and quite a few areas round manchester predominantly blue seen a city shirt every time iv'e been to states as well but airplanes fly from manchester to florida all the time.

When City are on TV in my local pub, there are about 15 blues in there with the usual assortment of bitter rags outnumbering us and cheering on whoever we are playing.

When the rags are on you can't get through the door.

The landlord knows how to make money, so when there is a clash, there is only one outcome, and it isn't City on the box.

The Railway in Hale would rather show Liverpool games than City.

I'll listen to the game on the wireless. I'm not bothered really, as I've been doing it for decades, and I can see the goals on MOTD.

It's the result that counts.

I can think of 3 pubs here that will have City on. The landlord of the busiest told me that he takes more if he has City on as the fans start boozing early and stay around after the game..

That would be because city fans actually go to matches :)

It's the same over here. There are obviously more united fans, but they generally turn up 2 minutes before kick-off and are out the door the second the full-time whistle blows. City fans, on the other hand, will turn up two hours before kick-off and hang around for at least a couple of hours after the game.
