Punk and New Wave thread.

Nice.
Think I'll break out one of my fav.. albums of all time today now that I'm in the mood.

Great album

As this a punk and new wave thread I would just like to know what people think of Idles?
They're the most punk sounding and issue lead band we've had for a while
I've heard about 10 tracks, I like 5 or 6. I like their angst and raw sound but Idles being a 6th gen punk band I've heard most of the chords and sentiment before. Having said that they're a decent band.

That's fair enough obviously. Would be nice to think the younger generation could latch on to a band like this now to give them something to think about

I think they're pretty much latched onto pal. Tried getting a ticket to see them last year in Manchester and they were sold out as we're most of the other gigs.

Lengthy interview with Lydon here:

It's especially good on the subject of caring for someone with Alzheimers and Ari Up (an underrated and distinctive singer in my view). He always seems to be very upbeat and positive these days, a striking contrast to his Pistols/PiL era persona.

Whether the Trump thing is posturing or he actually 'means it man' doesn't bother me either way, even though I see Trump as a dangerous narcissist, and when he states that 'All Lives Matter' he goes out of his way to emphasise that he is anti-racist, unlike some.

It would be interesting to know what someone like Jason Williamson makes of his comments about Brexit (just to be clear, I'm personally a Remainer).

I went to see them last year and thought they were pretty good. Nothing earth-shattering, but very decent. They were supported by Fontaines DC, who I’d heard more about and was quite excited to see. I thought they were utter shite though.
