The boomtown rats were in fine form last night in Shrewsbury, geldof a proper manic show man ,also the undertones enjoyed the hits but the others not so much .

Just when you think "is there anything left to write about Manchester music?" I receive this wonderful, signed hardback book written by Tony Davidson in the post sent by a friend.

Tony was very influential in the late 70's / early 80's running TJ Davidson's rehearsal studios - if you've seen Joy Division's Love Will Tear Us Apart video, it was filmed there. Pretty much every Manchester punk and post punk band rehearsed there.... but he did so much more than own the rehearsal rooms....

From a pal... went to watch UK subs at the Waterloo Blackpool last Sunday. Xslf supporting them. Excellent. Good venue. Charlie harpers 80th and final tour I believe. I never thought warhead would become so relevant again!

I've a handwritten and signed (by Uncle Charlie) lyric sheet framed with the original brown single plus bits of Warhead ephemera. The best track out of the hundreds they recorded but I still think AKOB was the best album. Last time I saw them was 1983 when Charlie wasnt even a teenager back then.
