Punk and New Wave thread.

Going to see SLF tonight at Mcr Academy. Been into them since they released their first single, Suspect Device. Ever present singer Jake Burns still has the energy and raw angst in his voice, founding band member on base Ali McMordie the same. Anyone else going. If so give me a shout. Still as good today as when i first saw them.

Ha! You can always tell it's March.
Like with a Madness gig it must be December, SLF always tour in March!

My first ever gig July 1980, Coventry Locarno

Saw Hugh doing his stuff and Stranglers covers at the International in town, would have been around 92(iirc). He was really good and i enjoyed the gig. Most memorable part was when he improvised on Dave Greenfield's 3 minute keyboard solo on Walk On By. How he managed to fill in on acoustic guitar that long i don't know but by heck it was fuckin' impressive.

Let me know if you intend going mate because I'm interested in seeing him again before he hangs up his plectrum.

The final acoustic tour.....

Followed by the full on electric guitar tour!

@PinkFinal if you somehow agree to go with BlueMoonRisin' just be warned in advance, that he will "forget" his wallet and you'll be buying pints all night ;)

I'm such a (this) charming man mate that friends and fellow blues offer to buy me a pint, can't remember you ever buying me one in the few rimes we've met

Rumour has it you have your wallet in your pocket attached to a chain. I think the chain's been fookin cut! And when you do finally open it those ten bob notes are of no legal value nowadays, pal; )

It’s all dollars in my wallet these days - The Waldorf wouldn’t accept them!
