Not conceded 2 at home since the 22nd December!

In fact our last 11 home games have been won with results that would send us to extra time or send us through. We're still well in this.
That does not matter at all.

This is not league game so Spurs are going to go for it and they will get chances because they know City have to score at least three to feel safe and to advance City will have to get four.

We'll win at the Etihad, I'm sure of it. Despite not being on our A game we didn't deserve to lose this, the goal was against the run of play, we were all over Spurs in the second half.

In the end, if we can't win at home against the Spuds we don't deserve to progress.

But we will.

How is Eddie? That could be the real blow today.

Result not bad overall, we more than capable of scoring 3 plus.

Tonight was the result of several games playing within ourselves.

Also could well be a kick up the arse for the remaining games.

Cant be that slow again can we??

You're very tough ... behind the keyboard !

Surely someone else needs to take penalties as Sergio’s record isn’t great
And message to Pep no more Delph

Pep could have every intention of starting him vs Palace and vs Spurs in the 2nd leg, so if that's the case then he didn't want to risk him tonight.

Tough to judge tonight, especially the subs until the next 2 games have played out.

I think with Bernardo picking up that slight problem, he has every intention of starting De Bruyne and Sane vs Palace.
But he's played Sterling every game recently and he will start against Palace and Spurs and United. Is he so much fitter than Leroy.

There's something about not having to win all the battles to win the war.
Pep' s dealing with a squad of athletes who need to be managed and rotated for two games a week. This is real life football, not FIFA 19. We all know because of the " politics" around European football we are very unlikely to be allowed to win the Chumps League, so the 2 Prems on the bounce + another cup at Wembley need to be the priorities.

If the Dippers played VVK at right back they would fall to pieces , the drop in quality from Otto and Laporte to Otto and Stones or Vinny and Otto it is minimal , and Laporte has performed superbly at left back when required , Pep got it wrong tonight , not often he does , but he f*cked up big time.

Whilst I accept the level of drop-off in our CBs isn't that dramatic, what has happened to Stones? Why didn't he play today regardless of who played left-back? This happened last season, Stones was mint but made a few mistakes* after coming back from injury and was hardly seen for week

*I don't remember any recent mistakes to justify dropping him

They weren't exactly great tonight either, so I'm still confident for next week. They hardly offered much either side of their goal except for a few wild shots at Row Z. We can do em' next week easily. Don't get me wrong, I'm not happy about the way we're playing lately, but we can do it no hassle. Get back to the City we know and we could be 3 up in the first 10-20 minutes. Just hope we do see that City and not the pretty half-arsed team we've been watching the last couple of weeks.

COYB.

1-0 is not a hard score to turn around, 2-0 and i would be twitching, the battle is not to concede because i cant see us putting 3 past them on the night

1-0 is a horrible scoreline to have to turn around at home in a second leg. Sure, on a good day we're capable of sticking 4 or 5 past spurs, but spurs aren't a shit team and we can't just assume we'll have it our own way. It's awful having to play out the last 10-15 mins if we only get 1-0 ahead. They nick one and you suddenly find yourself needing three. Unless we blow them out of the water in the first half it's going to be extremely nervy.

There must be a really good reason why we didn't play our normal players and didn't play at our normal tempo.

Snails pace doesn't suit our players.

Let's hope the ref is a homer

He played left back against Liverpool in January and Salah didn’t have a touch. We had Kompany and Stones on the bench.

Delph shouldn’t even be traveling with the team now.

My position is, we wouldn't play Aguero on the right wing so I don't like the idea of playing our best CB at left back

I think he is, I don't recall Sterling ever being rested, even in the pressing game tonight he looked the sharpest.

Sterling will start every game he possibly can, along with Fernandinho, those 2 are the fittest in the squad and only get rested as a last resort.
