exactly...i still don't understand why we HAD to release Bellamy..keep him and loan him to livarepool for all his wages. he wouldn't play us and score against us, technically ours, and not given them a player that they will now probably make money off, same with united, they sell rubbish for money and we pay for rubbish
 
A reason United can get better fees than us is because they have a lower wage ceiling for most players (except Rooney and some others). If Adebayor earned £100,000/week we could probably get £15million to £20million for him. If Bellamy had earned £40,000/week we could probably have gotten £4million for him. And so on. Our wage structure hurts us just as it does Chelsea, look at the players they have released recently. Sunderland wanted Johnson and probably would have paid a big fee for him but as we doubled his wages in December, that puts him far above their wage ceiling.
 
For what they could do with the 2m Utd would've been better off keeping him. He's a decent squad player, grafts his balls off and is experienced.

Pathetic business.

If they need to make space for an incoming midfielder then Whoopi should've been the man out the door cos he is completely wank and would raise 10m at least.
