Go on any clubs website that have won the Charity Shield, and it is on their honours board, and is counted towards their total cup wins.

I’m sorry for swearing, but give it a f***ing rest that the Charity Shield isn’t classed as trophy.

But, joking aside, friendly, or not, a trophy is a trophy and winning it is something we should all appreciate.

So is the charity shield hence teams putting out weak teams as players build fitness. It's nothing but a glorified friendly. Never been to one and never will,spend enough money on proper games that matter.

If Liverpool were to beat us in next year's CS it certainly won't be seen as a friendly by the media.

CS would count as a trophy if both teams really really wanted to win it but as they don't much care and treat it very much as a pre season game (much like the Thomas Cook trophy used to be) cannot possibly be counted.
