Quad not treble

The goal posts are already being moved again by the Rags and Scousers.

It’s not the proper treble.
It’s not the proper quadruple.
It’s not the European Cup.

If City win the next 2 games.

City will retain the title.
City will have done the double. The title and the FA Cup.
City will have done the treble. The title, the FA Cup, and the League Cup.
City will have done the quadruple. The title, the FA Cup, the League Cup, and the Charity Shield.

An historical achievement that no other English football club has ever done.

No. The charity shield is a friendly. Why is this even a thread? So many other worthy threads that the MODs merge with other mega threads. This forum is going downhill...

It may be a friendly, but it is a match against champions - premier league and FA.

I'm looking forward to City's first 11 playing City's second 11 next season :)

But, joking aside, friendly, or not, a trophy is a trophy and winning it is something we should all appreciate.

But all over the rest of Europe (Spain/Germany/Italy etc) they call it the Super Cup or variables thereof. So in the UK they give it a shit name so it doesn't count?. Nope, not having it. It's a proper trophy, played annually and should be treated accordingly....... Now the close season 'trophies' in America/China etc on the other hand are a load of old bollocks.....

So is the charity shield hence teams putting out weak teams as players build fitness. It's nothing but a glorified friendly. Never been to one and never will, spend enough money on proper games that matter.

How many f***ing times? Arrrgh!

Go on any clubs website that have won the Charity Shield, and it is on their honours board, and is counted towards their total cup wins.

I’m sorry for swearing, but give it a f***ing rest that the Charity Shield isn’t classed as trophy.

United’s trophy website.

Minus 21 Charity Shields off their trophy total.

I think the community shield will be a pretty fierce contest next year, first chance to try and assert ourselves as better than Liverpool again.

Just to add to my opening post, I'd be very surprised if the CS isn't on the parade...if we have one.

I agree and it’d be printed/plastered on the main entrance as well where’re it currently lists two from last season ...

They’ve even added 4 draws in Community Sheild as joint wins so in title count !!

I do find it weird that we're the only major league in Europe who doesn't celebrate it and it probably is snobbery to do with the name. Even having it as a shield differentiates it.

*Said in a London accent*: "Fackin' Chari-ey?? Fackin tin pot mayte"
