Why do you bother?
To show you up for the paranoid, race obsessed, person that you are.

Do you ever see yourself as a parent ?

Early thirties aren't you ?

Not if it turns me into some of nut cases on here though the fact that plenty of parents have said a resounding "no" pleases me and gives me some hope that not all thinking is suspended a la JOTL upon parenthood.

There's still plenty of time and the Mrs is 24 and still does a bit of modelling so neither of us are desperate for kids any time soon.

Johnsonontheleft scores yet again.
Another thinly-veiled OP masquerading as polemic discussion, which turns out to be a Trojan horse for his own warped agenda.
Clearly after more than 20 threads he has exhausted the racially-themed range, and has now moved on to tap into the paranoia market.
And we are all,(myself included),daft enough to indulge him for 17 pages and counting.
BB2 is,(maybe),dead - long live the new king.

This thread has shown one thing and that's that the amount of people that are paranoid out there is frightening.

I've a 16 year old boy and remembering what i was like at the time, the last thing i'd want is to be chipped so i wouldn't force it on him. (Though his mum probably would lol).

We would be taking away freedom and in a way some of the little innocence that they have left, growing up is about learning about and exploring life, not controlling it so that there is never any risk!!

I'd seriously wonder what type of society people want for their kids with some of the comments on here.

And i'm not surprised we're becoming an obese nation, because i'm guessing a lot of these kids aren't out of the safety of their own bedrooms so parents know where they are.

Have you heard of the 'find my iPhone' function? IT IS NOT RUN BY THE POLICE & GOVERNMENT. Find my iPhone enables a person to locate their phone if it is lost or stolen. It isn't used by apple or the government to spy on people 24/7. A chip for young children would work the same way?

Why are people not getting this???

So buy them an iPhone? Or any other smartphone? It doesn't need to be as sinister as implanting something under their skin.

Better yet, just be the type of parent who is vigilant to these issues, and know where your kids are.

Abduction isn't restricted to kids. The second rape of its kind in India in a month happened the other day, and they were adults.

Trouble is with this technology, it could eventually be used for governmental intervention. At least I think that's the point others are trying to make.

Buying an iPhone for a 2 year old isn't really realistic is it.

How old are your kids?

And can we just clarify that nobody is advocating compulsory microchipping of kids - it would be a decision for the parents to make. Don't want your kids microchipped because of privacy concerns? You wouldn't have to. But for parents who want to, the option would be there. Same with iPhones - not happy with privacy of their GPS tracking - don't buy one!!!

How do you lose a 2 year old child?
Is there anything stopping you getting your kid chipped today?

And feel free to respond to my post answering your question at the start of this thread.

I love that scene, film and his character.

"It's definitely weak but I have a feeling that if we do enough it, we'll be ok"

Another thread where people are arguing fiercely over something that may never happen. it's like the cellar's version of the Mourinho vs Mancini thread.

That's what folk tend to do on threads Chris - they debate imaginary scenarios that are extremely unlikely in reality.
Much like fans on Newcastle websites probably fantasise over an away win.
