the R/W Shill Carver from the IEA - why does she get a seat on QT btw? - got very prickly when a fellow panellist enquired as to how the Institute for Economic Affairs are funded and who pays her wages. Predictably the Tories are being savaged in Liverpool tonight.
 
Wes Streeting. Who's slightly more right than Starmer and isn't against privatising the NHS. Which should have him booted out of the party on that alone.

The legislation is passing through parliament right now.

Private companies, mostly American, will be given budgets to spend on health care as they see fit. The country is going to be split up into 40 or so regions, each one deciding how, and on what treatments, the the money will be spent.

We couldn't have done it when we were in the EU, because a condition of membership was universal healthcare had to be state managed. That has now passed into history,

The government has wasted no time in cancelling that obligation.
