Queues

Is there really any point to these searches anyway? I mean let's say some Showsec steward does find someone with a bomb/gun, what's he going to do about it? Hit him with his metal detector?

Article in the MEN.

Asked the club for a response.

As per they will come out with a well drafted response vetted by those in charge, without explaining why this is continuing at the Etihad.

Don't hold your breath. The club won't admit this an on-going f*** up of epic perportions.

They know they are pissing the fans and customers off everytime this happens. Yet they continually fail to address or at least improve this situation.

Massive queues outside north stand last night. Pretty stupid scanning everybody if you ask me. My 10year old daughter is unlikely to be a massive security risk!!. Better training for the show sec people needed. If this is going to continue a better system gates etc is required as it is unreasonable to expect all fans to turn up 60mins early for midweek games. Thousands of people trying to get to seats 15mins into games. This just pisses the fans off. If it's to stop possible suicide bombers then clearly this is a failure as a lunatic could just blow himself up outside the ground in the massive queues to get in?

Perhaps if people arrived a little earlier then the problems would go away.Only a thought. We didn`t have to wait, having arrived at 7.10 pm.Perhaps you should come out of the pub a little sooner.Pissheads. ;)

To be fair it can be quite a challenge these days getting to the Etihad for 7.10pm. I'm retired so can set off early, but it must be a nightmare for those who are working and have a lengthy trip to make.

It did seem bizarre though to arrive at the stadium and see huge queues building up, at the same time as the staff in the heaving Summerbee Bar were replenishing pints. Someone surely must have made a connection. Its obviously not helped by UEFA's alcohol ban which adds to the problem and serves little purpose. Perhaps we should be lobbying the club to try to get this ban overturned.

People seem to resent the security checks on the basis that they hold them up without appearing to be particularly effective. Well the only way that will change is that the club will be under pressure to make them more effective. People are going to have to get used to the idea that they're here to stay.

How do you know what happens at the swamp?......RAG ;)
My mate is a regular swamp goer with her hubby. She's in the "singing section". Was talking about the queues at City few weeks ago and she said at the swamp they have to take their coats off and queues are held up by people not doing this to the last second. There's a separate queue for any group with females in so a female security person can search them.

I go in through P and the queues recently have been horrendous, snaking around all over the place. Last night they had stewards manning the queues which seemed to help stop people pushing in. Got in the queue at 7:25pm and was in my seat just as the anthem was about to start. When we got to the search table I just saw bottles of drink and the search wands were on the table under a plastic box and not being used. Nobody was getting searched. Before anyone says get there earlier, sometimes you just can't, work etc plus I've gotten there earlier before and if anything the queue was worse. That stupid bloody wall really doesn't help either, queues at Y looked bad but never as bad as P which we now have to go in. Does anyone know if this wall is coming down once the glass tunnel work is complete?

Why are These queues only happening at city's ground? Are we the only club taking it seriously? Even though there was a bomb taped to the back of the scum toilet and reported like someone left a steaming shit!

I`m quite fortunate that with being disabled the queues are not very long in S Block and likewise with being retired myself we can get to the ground fairly early. But yes the queues were horrendous elsewhere and nothing worse than standing in one when its pissing down. The club need to do something but what I`m not certain.

Watching the game again after I got in, the wankers on BEiN sports: "I can't believe it isn't a sell out" No boys, it is sold out, but the club are so inpet at getting people in, that it's making us look bad on your screens, with swathes of empties all over at KO.
