Queues

I think they'd still be serached to put in lockers, leading to queues at lockers! Otherwise people could block up the lockers eh..
Btw we with our bag don't add to queus as we try and get in 60 to 90 min before kick off.

This happened at a WC game I attended. Np warning just announced all bags had to be put into a storage centre. So an hour queueing. then bag through scanner, then a queue to get in the stadium. Worst of all was the hour spent after the game to get the bag back.

There's also these others things that women like to use? You know, think they are called handbags?

Your point being? Mum has a small handbag - that is included in the rants about bags from many on here, as even a handbag gets searched and in peoples eyes "makes the queue long". Is she meant to put the bottle of water she needs to carry at all time in it? Her scarf gloves hat brolly type thing? Is having them in a draw string bag on her back such a crime? Sned her to the swamp immediately! A lifelong support of city?? Kick her and her type out as she needs a bag! Age 75? Let the young blood in in her place as they want to stand and are the only true fan and they don't bring a bag, gloryseeker that she is ;) Is the man someone spoke about further above who needs spare clothes etc due to his illness supposed to squeeze them into a manbag?
Bags - the one and only reason people need to queue, didn't you know, i mean bluemoan says so ;)

But there IS a bag lane at each set of turnstiles, all of last season they even had a big sign "bag lane" for one of the 4 lanes at B1, and another sign for one of the 4 lanes at B2.
There were bag lanes yesterday at B1 and B2, though they forgot to have the actual sign, people with bags were made to leave the lane they were in when they got to the steward to then rejoin the bag one.

And bags would need to be searched to put in lockers. Leading to queues there, though i guess those bagless couldn't give a shit!! ;)

Well there was no separation into a bag lane at my entrance, hardly surprising that it's inconsistent across the ground though, the organisation appears piss poor.

And exactly, I wouldn't give a shit haha, let those with bags queue separately instead of slowing everyone else down ;-)
Either way, the whole queuing system at City is dire in every area and always has been. Ticket Office, outdoor bars, indoor bars, indoor food service and now even at the turnstiles. It's so badly managed it's laughable. Been that way every single season though, so hardly surprising.

People need to get there earlier for weekend games (night games are unavoidable when people work and can only get there when they get there) and STOP TAKING BAGS TO FOOTBALL MATCHES!

Why the fuck do people need bags? Full on rucksacks packed to the maximum with some people. Fucking leave them at home, in your car, or in your hotel if you’re a fucking tourist!

It’s the simpletons who turn up with a bag with 300 things in, each needing to be looked at by security that slows things down the most.

In fact City should ban all bags over a certain size and only allow in sensible sized handbags or those “man” bags young lads like to carry.

If you can’t take an umbrella over a certain size in, they should enforce the same with bags.

Fucking bag idiots!
stop being a tit, you are embarrassing yourself

You have seemingly taken it completely the wrong way.

People are complaining about why others bring rucksacks to games and I am saying people aren't even factoring in handbags that women still bring, which also need to be checked and nobody seems to be flagging those.

^ ah right, i'm a bit stressed at the mo, and sleep deprived, feel ill myself, with my mum in daily pain, and son about to turn 2 but still cannot walk so lots of physio and i'm knackered... so as well as probably using my brief spare time better than getting wound up about bags on bluemoon, i can sometimes take things the wrong way - sorry!

Which half wit at the club decided to put in extra barriers outside the players entrance right across where fans walk, chaos yesterday as fans going both ways came to sharp stop, fucking dangerous. A bloke had a go at the staff asking why they’re put them there , her response, “ anyone who can will they climb over” , I shit you not .

add to that the queues on the blue carpark at the end of the game. shit crowd management

So after years of meetings, discussions, plans, moving metal barriers about, new layouts, new wands, additional security staff, etc, etc, getting into the stadium and the queues are as bad as ever. I won't even mention the ticket office.

Who's in-charge of this on-going mess?

And the horrible thought is the larger the capacity the worse the problem becomes

Absolutely bang on.

I don't like having to bring a bag to the match and my guess is nobody else does either so I don't know why we can't give people the benefit of the doubt and assume there's usually a good reason. The price we pay for tickets I don't think it's a big ask of the club to get better processes in place for getting people checked and in the ground more quickly. I had to move from Manchester and I travel 200 miles to games. That means i'm often carrying a bag with clothes in it for the weekend and usually i'm either coming straight to the ground from arriving in Manchester or having to leave for the station straight from the game.

My dad has to bring a bag to games because he has a colostomy bag and has to carry stuff around in case he needs to change it and/or clean himself up.

People have all kinds of completely valid reasons as to why they might have to bring a bag with them.

If you stay in Scotland and come to every game staying over when ko times don’t allow for same day return a bag is essential

I’d be interested to know exactly what has been picked up by these searches. Has any illegal item been found? If no then there’s little, if any, deterrent from having a go. Airport security found chewing gum I’d absent mindedly forgotten to take out of my back pocket. City’s never picked it up.

Security is commensurate to the threat, unfortunately a world wide TV audience watching a bomb go off at the home of the Premier League Champions in England is exactly what the enemy want.... suck it up snowflakes, have one less pint at the Pub and get there a little earlier avoiding the inevitable queues. Pity this kind of security didn't happen at the MEN !

Security at the Arena prevented nothing. He was ticketless and ran in to the outer atrium as people left the concert.

One less pint wasn’t an option v Basel last season. Home from work, changed, fed, watered and still struggled to make kick off.

Security at the outer atrium checking people could have avoided it.....Commensurate to the threat

Is that in place now? They’ll blow themselves up wherever there’s a crowd. Put security in the outer atrium and he stands ten metres away.

As opposed to a bomb going off outside the stadium with 1000’s of people queuing up.

Regarding the Arena bomb attack. Whichever way you look at it, it was and will always be a tragedy. But if there would have been similar queues outside the arena that there are outside the Etihad, the death toll would have been much higher.

The bomber had a suitcase which contained the bomb. And as the arena is linked to Victoria train station, nobody would have suspected there was a bomb inside the suitcase. Nobody is going to try and get a suitcase into the Etihad. The bomber also struck at night, when people were still in the arena, and we’re comimg out of the arena early to get home.

If a bomber is intent on blowing himself or herself up outside the stadium, no amount of security will stop them. Yes, they might get stopped at the entrance, but they will detonate the bomb there. There is also a threat of a second bomber waiting for people to escape from the stadium after the 1st bomb.

I think all rucksacks and sports bags should be banned from the Etihad. Handbags, Manbags, and souvenir shops bags should be the only bags allowed into the stadium.
