Radamel Falcao Zarate

No quotes or anything, so most likely made-up journo stuff, but anyway:

AC Milan 'to sell stars to fund move for Mario Balotelli'
Mario Balotelli is wanted by AC Milan - and the Italian club are willing to sell a host of stars in order to fund a move for the Manchester City forward.

The Italy international has been in and out of the City side this season, with boss Roberto Mancini also being able to call upon Edin Dzeko, Carlos Tevez and Sergio Aguero in attacking positions.

His uncertain status at the Etihad Stadium has alerted a host of clubs across Europe, but none more so than AC, who feel they have the ideal opportunity to lure Balotelli back to his homeland.

But to do so, they will have to sell several players in order to raise the money required first to make an offer for the striker and secondly to afford his hefty wage demands.

Corriere dello Sport has reported that three players have been identified by club bosses as among those who can make way for Balotelli.

Kevin Prince-Boateng, Alexandre Pato and Robinho are the men that AC will attempt to get off their books before placing an offer for the unpredictable City hitman.

As well as trying to bring Balotelli to the San Siro, AC will also make moves for Roma midfielder Miralem Pjanic and Montepellier defender Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa.

If there's any truth in this, it suggests AC really want him, so will pay full price - meaning we have no excuse not to go for Falcao, frankly.

I definately think Mario will go come January or Summer, the birth of his child will change his mind-set on where he will want to play football - he will want to be as close to his child as possible.

Fernando Torres for Radamel Falcao as Chelsea Consider Atletico Madrid Swap:

This rumour is bound to come up more and more as the January window grows closer. Also briefly mentions us and P$G, as they all do.
Have a feeling this is gonna turn into one of those boring, drawn-out transfer sagas.

But Roman A doesn't do long and drawn-out sagas, he pays the price and gets his player asap.
This trade is looking very likely me thinks, assuming Fernando is ready go go back home again.

Torres is on a basic wage of £175,000/week at Chelsea apparently, would Atletico take those wages on? I would have thought with their business model they'd continue the cycle of finding someone else they can sell for a profit like Falcao's mate Jackson Martínez.

I was speaking to some Atleti fans on a forum of theirs last night, and they've all but conceded that he's gone for the reasons Love City has raised on here re their debt. It may be blind hope but a lot of them think that Falcao doesn't even want to leave but will for the sake of the club - I don't think whoever gets him will pay a figure close to his buyout clause, not because he's not worth it, rather because of the strong bargaining position they'll hold.

That Torres move will never happen.
