Radamel Falcao Zarate

The way I'd set up would be Ageuero on left and Falcoa on right of a 2 man forward line. Both cutting in with stronger feet and Falcoa's trademark is lifting the ball on his left foot into top right corner (keepers) of goal.

I'd have Aguero linking play with Falcoa being the finisher. Those crosses from Kolarov would be bulging in net too. He and Dzeko would be a good variation too.

But anyway, as I have said and as others are saying. He must be bought imo. If we want to be a European force then why not go and get the most prolific forward around right now. If Chelsea get him then enjoy last season because we wont be repeating it this season or next imho. Hazard and Falcoa are two of the best talents in the world and we would be crazy to let both slip, one was enough, two is just plain sloppy. I'm a big Cavani fan too but for the money bandied around Falcoa makes most sense and costs similar amount.

-- Wed Oct 24, 2012 1:16 pm --

Falcao may be the best striker in the world right now, but he is not, I repeat, NOT a Mancity type striker. Don't get me wrong, he will score goals. Lots of goals. But he wouldn't drastically change our team for the better.

He is not that good of a ball passer, his interplay with teammates is pretty average. He is not the most technically sound footballer either.

What he is, is predatory. Matter of fact, the best example of a Falcao type player for me are Shane Long at WestBrom, and Chicharito at United. Perhaps more Chicarito than Long. But the way Long pounced fortuitously on that Odemwingie missed shot against us, is quite reminiscent of Falcao's instincts. And he plays almost like Chicharito. Hangs on the last defender and pounces on anything and everything.

These types of strikers, are much more successful in a "quick strike" offense, and not on a "build up" offense. For better or worse, we are a "build up" offense. We are a probe and prod offense.

And just for kicks, we already have a striker here who was great at quick strike football, and while he is not struggling here, he is clearly not lighting it up like a Christmas tree either, at least not until lately (Dzeko).

So as much as Falcao makes us all dreamy, he simply might not be the best type of striker for our offense. At least not as presently constituted. But because he is so much better than Long or Chicharito at doing what he does, he'd probably score a lot of goals regardless. But not enough in my opinion to justify the cost, or greatly improve our chances.

If you asked me, I'd rather a striker like Jovetic or Soldado. Neither of whom are half th striker Falcao is, but would probably improve us as much at a lower cost.

I'm definitely keeping an eye out for all of your future posts. In fact I'm now going to look through your entire post history just to see if you are always this hilarious.
I think dax was impressed with the goal he bagged against us

Odemwingie flopped a shot which was nicely finished with a simple tap in. Long always makes nice runs, very good player is long. How Reading could do with him now.

Can't be comparing Falcoa with Long though, a Ferrari with a Cosworth.

If Dzeko continues in his present form, we won't need Falcao. It wouldn't make sense to strengthen an area that didn't need it.
I do like Dzeko but Falcao is on another level to him, if Balotelli leaves there is no reason why we couldn't keep both at least for the rest of the season. If Messi became available would say we wouldn't need him as we already have Silva and Nasri in similar positions?

So glad we never pushed the boat out for RVP
Now all deadwood removed from squad
Balotelli will make room for this guy
Lets not forget the money was available for Hazard
If we make it through to Champs League knockout stage it will be a january option

Chelsea won't pay over odds for Falcao

By ESPN staff and Harry Harris

Chelsea will not pay above €35 million for Atletico Madrid's in-form striker Radamel Falcao, a source has told ESPN.

Falcao, 26, has already scored 12 goals in eight Atletico Madrid appearances this season and has been dubbed 'the world's best No. 9', prompting a host of top clubs to race for his signature.

The Colombian could be the missing piece of the puzzle for Chelsea, with £50 million man Fernando Torres struggling for goals, but the Blues are not willing to pay over the odds for a player again and have set themselves a budget.

"Chelsea would go to 35 million euros but I don't believe they would go higher. The owner is fed up paying inflated prices," a source close to Roman Abramovich told ESPN.

"There is no way Abramovich will sanction such a price again, I just don't believe he will. Atletico paid €45 million for him, so I cannot believe they would sell for anything less."

Falcao has a €60 million buy-out clause in his contract, but Abramovich and the Chelsea hierarchy are acutely aware of UEFA's Financial Fair Play directive and any extravagant new signings would prejudice their abilities to persuade UEFA that are living within the financial rules.

..."By Harry Harris".

Moving on.

Where do you stand in the great Falcao debate?

Go all out to get him in January, to stop him going to the chavs?

Go all out to get him in the summer to stop him from going to the chavs and so that Mario can be sent in the opposite direction?

Let the Chavs get him and compromise our chances of dominance?

Just let it not be the third option, imho.
