Rag Takeover

I don't contribute much to this thread because I know sweet bugger-all about high finance. But what I do know is that I'm loving every post I read about the bastard rags and their crippling debt. I can almost get high on the fact that the Glazers are fucking the swamp-dwellers over and backwards and there's not a thing anyone can do about it.

For many many years I've had to put up with all manner of abuse from the plastics over the fact that we've won sod-all while they've swept the boards. I've had to endure the most vile taunts from these arrogant morons because of my love for Man City and my hatred for all things rag. So you'll have to forgive me if I come across as a bit sad because I'm in fucking seventh-heaven reading all about their imminent demise.

If anyone else has any more evidence of how financially fucked the rags are, please do this sad old git a favour and post it up here so that I can greedily devour every word and laugh myself into oblivion as the plastic empire crumbles before my very eyes.

You know, the more I think of these Red Knights the more I laugh.

The Glazers bought the club using a wealth of money sourced directly from banks.

The Red Knights want to buy the club with money sourced directly from the fans.

They are following in the typical United tradition of using their fans as a bank and these people are too blind to see it.

I was talkin to some rags about their demise yesterday and they started spouting on about this red knight crap. I did the maths for them and showed them it was hard to believe it was possible and they agreed. Then they started with the obvious you've just bought success. My response was to tell them how much they've actually spent on players and that was when prices were naturally lower. Plus the prices we've had to pay are all roughly 3-6mill higher than what you'd expect (apart from tevez who i consider a bargain ;) ) what with the city added tax and we've had to do it in a lot shorter time hence we have to pay for proven stars where as they were able to find some players cheaper and bring them through i.e. evra 5m vidc 7m ronaldo 12m.

I listened to 5 minutes of TalkShite this morning and they were talking it up like the "Red Shights" were local business men and die-hard rags, not the greedy globalising, brand-obsessed parasites that they actually are.

I'm surprised SSN aren't rolling with "Pete Boyle to buy United out of the goodness of his heart."

Anyway, keep it up Glazer, we're right behind you.

Its even sweeter than that.

Galzers buy club with debt.

Fans dont like it and protest.

Red Knights ride in and amongst them are -

A very senior banker who helped source the finance the deal

A very senior lawyer invovled in doing the deal

An ex-corporate partner (F Done) who has been kicked out by Glazers

2 senior hedge fund executives who helped the initial leveraged buy-out.

So basically the Red Knights have waited until the deal that they set-up for the Glazers has been re-financed before trying to get money from the fans and 50 wealthy individuals. Why?

Perhaps because they know for sure that the model they allowed the club to be owned under is unsustainable.

The next move is that they want a fans boycott to add additional financial stresses to the club they supposedly LOVE.

Now that is a great bunch of fans. YCNMIU!

I couldn't you were already there! On a serious note this apparent takeover is by a group of wealthy individuals who are United fans and prepared to put in their own money cash (not borrowed) with a supporters trust given a controlling interest. Obviously the brothers Grimm have to agree to sell and at the moment are saying they're not interested but as we all know everything has a price a bit like when a club rejects an initial offer for one of it's players to bump the price up.

The Glazers are by far the best thing that has ever happened to your club, and will make you the most cash rich in the world if you guys would just shut up and engage your brain for a second. These investment bankers do NOT have £1bn liquid between 50 of them, absolutely guaranteed. Investment bankers aren't rich, the people who employ investment bankers are the rich ones. It's like trying to get 50 former players together, they just cannot raise that type of money.
The Glazers won't sell United because unlike all of your Green and Gold brigade (who never seem to be in attendence in the last 15 minutes of a game, my United friend noted), they are billionaires because they make high risk business decisions and have the know-how to power them through. They aren't on the dole, or doing whatever pretend job you are about to make up that you do. Leave business to the people who have a proven track record in it.
Also, if you actually want your club to be run by fans and not businessmen, then you have to be living in a dream world.
No fan would have sold Ronaldo for £80m, despite the fact that it was a good business move. They also would pay Rooney or whoever the next terrace hero is, anything they so desire.
Having 50 owners in a football club is the worst thing that I could possibly imagine, for anyone.

Behind the derison in this thread I'm detecting the fear amongst you all that someone is gonna come along and piss on your bonfire. Let's not forget that your sugar daddy sheikh could withdraw his backing at any time. The hundreds of millions he's already blown is, as you keep pointing out pocket change, therefore on that basis it's also pocket change for him to lose if he decides that he doesn't want to be assoaciated with apparent failure for a prolonged period. In football normal rules of business do not apply.

You were all warned by the forum leader last week that the negativity within the club has been noted by the owner.

As a former forum leader, I can tell you that the last part is just shite. Contrary to popular belief, the Sheikh doesn't read Bluemoon, he's a bit too busy running his country and vast multi-billion pound empire.

By your logic, we'd have been better with a skint owner because he is well invested into the club? Utterly ridiculous.

You obviously have no idea who the Sheikh is, why he put money in to the club, or what his investment track record is. I'd tell you to look it up, but I'd fear that you'd probably just kill yourself with jealousy.

In fact, look it up.

The following was posted on this forum following the FA cup defeat by mighty Stoke:

"You're actions last night weren't just noticed by our own fans but noticed around the world. Congrats for the hand signals and abuse aimed towards Mancini.

Do you think you're actions are going to help?

Let me answer that question. Our owner has put millions into this club and is becoming increasingly impatient by the way some of our fans are reacting. In my words, like spoilt brats. Mansour has no ties to us, he can leave this club at anytime.

Im not going to go into this much more, but believe me you've been warned.

Dont bite the hand that feeds you!"

Just when i thought they had reached a peak with the cringeworthy 'green & gold campaign' trust utd not to let me down with the most self-indulgent piece of self-promotion with the even more cringeworthy 'Red Knights' I cannot believe my ears every time I hear it

There is no way this will happen its just a publicity stunt. End of.

And what is it with the 'green & yellow' campaign anyway, they talk about a protest and 'going back to their roots. What a crock of shit, the green & yellow has nothing to do with anything its not like uncle Malcom took over and changed the colour of their shirt & changed thier name is it? They are sad and pathetic sheep, the lot of them
