Ha ha ha! Ha ha. Ha ha.

Absolutely incredible!

Gill is essentially the Glazer's puppet at this stage. Everyone, including the most biased of United fans, is well aware the majority of the £80m received for Ronaldo was used to pay off interest on the PIK notes. There's no way Fergie will see anything like £80m to spend on new players, that's why he's brought in a guy no-ones heard of from Fulham and a guy no-one's heard of from Mexico.

Oh come off it, Matty - we Bluemooners all see life through Blue-tinted specs.

Just listen to Sir Phallix Baconface and read what the media say -

Fergiscum has this war cheast of 100 million quid to spend - the only reason that he hasn't spent much of it is "There is no value in the market" - no Dimitar Berbatov's to be snapped up for the bargain basement price of 30 mill, for example.

Everyone knows that he really DOES have all that dosh to spend.

Really.

There is just no value in the market.

And let's face it, once the likes of City, Chealse, Barca and Real stop paying those ridiculous prices for the top players in the world, then some value might come back.

Can't you imagine Fegie counting the 100 mill every night in bed mumbling "I can't wait to spend all this - when oh when will some value come back into the market?"

When he does find value, look at the gems Baconface manages to unearth - like Obertan, who has set the soccer world alight.
And Anderson (cheap at "only" 16 odd mill).

The goose that laid the golden egg was an incredible goose indeed,
Every now and the the glazers take ann egg to satisfy their greed,
The fans all moaned, wore yellow and green it really was a farce,
Ferguson will leave the fans will grieve and we'll say kiss my arse.

Thanks...I'm here all week. :)

I'm sure it's entirely coincidental that Tampa Bay Buccaneers have a policy of low spending on new talent and only buying talented youngsters.

which is why they finished bottom of their division having been winners not that long ago

I would say that most fans are NOT sticking their heads in the sand..

apart from the majority who buy green & yellow scarves from unofficial vendors, to protest against the glazers bleeding the club dry, to wear with the official red & white merchandise they've bought from the smegastore whose profits go straight to...er...the glazers.

don't you just love the irony of the glazer takeover being kickstarted by bacon face's spat with magnier & mcmanus. and that the pissed one is always defending the glazers as 'good owners'. fucking hilarious.

The NFL doesn't quite work like that, players aren't bought and sold. As it happens Tampa Bay spent alot on their "Rookie" players, why? because basicly your paid in relation to your place in the Collage Draft(Tampa Bay being weak normally have high draft picks)and to the skill level of your postion. How they come in with a low payroll is that they have a very low retention of players after that rookie contract(normally 3 seasons). So successful players are moved on without a fee(although they would get an addtional draft pick)not unlike a Bosman transfer. The second deal is when players start making really large sums of money over the "base player"

I guess the question is, is this policy like the one that the rags are following, I do find it telling that baconface likes to talk about value. However, much as I would like to say it is, drawing parallels with the NFL is a dangerous game, football and American football are totally different beasts from a business point of view and anyone that tried to copy across would be in a world of trouble(and might even find themselves 1.1Bn in debt!).

That club has a history of dodgy owners!

Early 1900's:
Newton Heath LYR FC had been ran appallingly by their owners. Awful players, playing terrible football drew crowds of just a few thousand at Bank Street. They were so bad, in fact, that they had to fold as a club and start a fresh with new owners. They moved grounds, they stole City's name, stole Slaford Reds colours and stole LCC's ground name!
(Hyde Road was bursting every other week and City were the biggest club in Manchester!)

1920's & 30's:
Low and behold United were in the same plight as they were in their late Newton Heath days. Inept owners bought shit players who played shit football. The club were earning no money because they were only getting 4000 fans in Old Trafford for every game and they went 37 (thirty-SEVEN!!!) years without winning a trophy! They were so poor they had to lend City's old kits for their actual kits (hence "Rags"!)
(City had moved to Maine Road and were a successful club getting crowds of 70-85000 every week - arguably held as the Norths premier club!)

1960's-80's:
They also stole Salford Reds nickname! Then after having some success under City's Matt Busby, United had an owner who tried to sustain the trophy-rich period under the ex-City star but could only do so by spending ridiculous amounts of money (which I also think he paying Peter Swales to fuck City up!!)! The part-genocidal Louis Edwards tried to mass kill school kids with his inedible meats, and the debts he ran up trying to buy success for United ran out of control and he "had a heart attack" ([unofficially] killed himself!!)!

1980's-90's:
His son ran up further debts for them by shelling out millions (and a hell of a lot more than any other club in the history of football at the time!) on players like Robson Hughes McClair, even Viv Anderson was the most expensive defender ever when they signed him! Add to that that they weren't winning much and the huge drop in attendances in English football in the 80's and they were not earning a lot of money!

But, UNFORTUNATELY(!), all that money spent (their 1993 PremLg winning team was the most expensive football team ever assembled and had just 1 home-grown player which would have had City's Busby appalled after what he could do with local lads!) saw benefits come the early 90's as they started to win trophies, which saw a massive bandwagon period as gates rose massively and United became a money spinning machine (after a history of living way beyond their means).

But again a man who came from a stupid bastard family tried to make himself some money by selling United to the Glazers. And look at what these guys are doing to United, yet again! But so fuckin what!? LONG LIVE THE GLAZERS! As that club deserves owners like that after their history and the fucking fans they've got (not even mentioned the fans who we all know are complete c'unts!!)

(City are now recovering greatly after decades of decay under Swales - still think he was a United fan, double agent working to fuck us up! But the future holds endless boutnies for us, what will it hold for them!?)
