Just had the misfortune of watching 5 minutes with that idiot Mcartney from the Notw. Despite being played off the park the rags are going to spend big, Taggart is staying for another three years that is on the back pages of all sport papers today blah, blah, blah.

No other stories matter etc.
To be fair, they have just lost the biggest game in club football, so we pretty much knew they would be all over the back pages of the English press.

Would have thought a couple of 'negative' stories may have appeared, possibly about Berbatovs no show, or the fact that they got Absolutly bummed.

Re: Baconface will stay 3 more years..

I would love him to stay 3 years, I want City to piss all over them whilst he is in charge not after he leaves, less excuses for the bitter twats when we overtake them.

Re: Baconface will stay 3 more years..

If has a few more thrashings like the CL final he won't make it 3 years. He looked on the verge of a seizure!

Baconface will stay 3 more years..

On Saturday, there was a close up of his hand trembling. This a symptom of Parkinson's disease.

United "invincibility"

A lot of teams when playing salford just set out not to lose and allow them to go all out attack, hence they end up losing to a scruffy deflection or last minute goal. Blackpool had a real go at them and only really lost the game when they conceded a deflected goal then had to go all-out attack so conceded another one to try and stay in the PL.

Lets face it, they were made to look a pub team vs. Barca. If their one shot on target hadn't gone in and Barca had a bit more luck the score could easily have been 5-0. They weren't just beaten, they were played off the park and destroyed by Barca. I was wondering if the game vs Barca may change some PL teams view of the scum.

I know it was by the best team in the world that beat them but sometimes seeing the local bully get a hammering by someone better gives everyone else a chance to think, "what if".

No other team is as good as Barca but, just maybe, a few more teams will set out to try and give them a game at the swamp as opposed to cowering in fear from the first minute. Cases in point are the Wolves reserve team and basically any other team setting up in a 4-5-1 or 4-1-4-1 formation when they go there.

It will be interesting next season to see if a few more teams are more willing to "give it a go" and some results end up going against them.

Neil Ashton of the NotW was saying on Talksport last week that he was hoping for a Rags win because their sales go through the roof when they do. On this basis it's pretty obvious that in the aftermath of Saturday's humiliation the papers would put a positive spin on the rags. If anybody else had been destroyed like that in a major final the press would have humiliated them for days.
