I think Sterling has been heavily overrated in his career so far. He was never as good as the hype he got at Liverpool from everyone, he's never been as bad as the stick he's got at City and then I don't think he's ever been as good as the hype he's got when he's had reasonably good or very good games from City fans. He's just a decent enough, inconsistent player with huge flaws and that's it.

Always great against us though

He plays like a fairy mate,if you have ever played the game you will know what you are taught about getting stuck in,otherwise you'll end up getting hurt more,Sterling has the athleticism to jump over potential crunching tackles, but a typical wing player,if up against a nasty full back who flies in,the game is non existent, and the only hope in certain games is to switch wings,to see if there any better hope on the other side

Sure, he's not great physically but my point is he still wins the ball more than half of the fucking squad. Has the pace and trickery to get past bigger full backs as he has shown in the first leg and vs Spurs at home.

I agree with you about the few games, and it is a few, where he been excellent, especially if up against a donkey not on his game, but watch how he tries to tackle,it's like watching an u8 game

How he tackles is totally irrelevant if he gets the ball back, what is your point exactly?

sterling was brilliant at liverpool. hes not just a 'decent' player. hes been one of our best players this year with some of the best attacking stats in europe. you can't be just a decent player with stats like that. he does have flaws, but i think hes getting better all the time. even last night, he set up the goal.

Exactly, and that's why me and I think many others don't understand why he doesn't do that much more often.
That said, I don't write him off! He just has to work hard on several aspects.

He has some good talent and is an outstanding English winger, he just has to improve. But hey, he's just 22.

Because he's inconsistent. Just like every u23 winger on the planet.

Look at the stats, mate. That's all.

I just have, here is what I found on whoscored.com between Sterling and Sane

Sterling - 0.9 tackles Sane - 1.2 tackles

Sterling 1.1 fouls Sane - 0.5 fouls

And on Premier league I found these - Sterling 24 games- 18 tackles Sane 15 games - 20 tackles
