Raheem Sterling | Arsenal Player (on loan)

He’s still talking about his exit, with a bit of bitterness creeping in. He was left ‘fuming, raging and shocked’ at how his City career ended.
‘When you sacrifice things, your kids birthdays, and get treated a certain way, it’s disappointing’

In no way scathing remarks, but he’s talking about it a little too much now.
Is he expecting to get the day off at Chelsea when it's his kids birthday?

Missed that. What was the context?

Zabaleta also hinted that Sterling, who was seen refusing to sign a City shirt for a fan while on Chelsea’s pre-season tour, has lacked respect for old club since his departure.

“When you come to the club, you have to give 100% respect and the moment you leave, you have to talk nicely to the club you’ve been playing for. I wish he could behave in that way.”

Going off his latest comments Sterling is a severely deluded man. Thought Pep was being way too stubborn sticking by him for so long when he stank the place out for two and a half seasons. Was a relief to see him go

All said and done he was still good for us on the whole and I'm not too fussed about these comments which aren't particularly vitriolic, I'm just happy I can watch proper footballers instead of him and would prefer that he got real and piped down a bit

As for those claiming he was a legend? Pathetic. He barely had any affinity with the club or fans whatsoever.

Long live king Zaba

Well said - Pep actually gave him more chances than most. He had some great moments sure but also he missed some sitters when most needed at critical times in big games and still he was in the side. He only got rotated when tactics needed him to be - he won title after title here, you'd think he'd be happy about that. Seems he forgets that and also when the press attacked him about tattoos and other stuff when England struggled the club supported him. Gone down in my estimation but he's Chelsea now so bye bye.

Zaba is and always was a top man on and off the field.

Interviews are often risky esp after after a big move and can be taken out of context.
See Conte Lukaku Kane and several others.

But there is a part of the interview which makes me think he was a bit delusion is when he says “ I don’t know why I was getting benched or my performances did not deserve that” or something of that effect.

No mate you were benched because you were shit. No agenda whatsoever

No need for these comments by Raheem, disappointing. And I’m sure there are plenty of his ex teammates a bit miffed too, don’t all footballers sacrifice birthdays, Christmas etc not just him? The facts are clear he didn’t play as much in his last year because his form had dropped off and winning the league fully justified that
