Are they regurgitating the £200k line as well? If so I'll wait for the club announcement.5 year deal according to BBC
TBH mate, I started out as a young football fan living in a non footballing household so I just supported the best team at the time who were Liverpool. In the mid-late 70's my older cousin who I really looked up to asked me why I supported Liverpool and I replied because we're the best team and Kevin Keegan played for us.I've always thought that some of us older fans have something in our psyche that made us choose an underdog (depending on precisely when you chose City), whilst lots of Liverpool and more latterly United fans took the easy option.
However, as much as I love that young kids are wearing City shirts in big numbers these days, I do wonder if we're attracting the same types of fan who WOULD have chosen Liverpool or United in the past, and the 'underdog' fans we previously attracted are now attracted to someone else?
Thanks Vicky!
Whoever Anonymous0211 is I am sure he/she called the 14th as a big day the back end of last weekend even before the Sterling fee was agreed.
You reckon Ric is at it with Vicky?

My cousin asked if I'd ever been to Liverpool, I said no. He then asked if I even knew where about in the UK Liverpool was, I said no. So he asked 'so why support a team you know nothing about apart from what you see on the telly?' So I asked him 'so who should I support' and he said City, its your local club and you know where they are.
So that was it for me, even though I always had a soft spot for Liverpool, I switched my allegiance at a very young and impressionable age which wasn't difficult as this was probably during City's heyday. But from the early 80's until 2008 I've had a mostly miserable time of it, so thanks for that cous!!! Lol :-)
Tbh, supporting City has been character building and probably explains why I hate bullys and always side witb and seek to protect those unable to look after themselves. Lord knows I've been through the mill with City, but my faith and dedication has been admirable rewarded amd nothing illustrates this more than the transfer of Raheem Sterling to City which has truly shown we are now a bigger club than Liverpool in all respects and that is something I never thought I'd be able to say in my lifetime.

This and all of this. Absolutely nailed it.Yes Liverpool fans and ex players may scoff that we were rinsed by the Dippers, but at the end of the day they know that this deal represents a paradigm shift in English football, namely that Manchester City Football Club purchased Liverpool's best player and most saleable asset and aside from them putting a sky high price on the players head, there was nothing they could do to stop us.
That is what latently worries them and what is driving their hatred of the player and ire towards us. They've haven't been in this position since the very early 70's and it hurts to now know that City, Arsenal, Chelsea and ManUre are now a bigger more enticing prospect to players than Liverpool are, and in reality they are in a battle with Spurs for the accolade of being the best of the rest so no wonder it hurts them.
I spoke to one Dipper yesterday who was honest enough to admit this. This isn't just about Sterling, its about Suarez and Torres too and the realisation that Liverpool can no longer claim to be dining at the top table in European football let alone English football based on their current standing in the game. They have well and truly been surplanted by Manchester City and us buying their best player for a record fee is the final piece of proof of who and what Liverpool are in the modern game where 'istree' will get you knowhere with players who weren't even born the last time you won a domestic title.......
