After them lot across the road paid £32m for Unfit Shaw I can understand why Liverpool want more than an extra £8m for the best 20year old in Europe.

I don't subscribe to this whole "he is never worth that much" or, "don't pay over the odds for him". For me, a player is worth what he is worth to that club. You need only look at past transfer dealings. Some may say Andy Carroll was not a £35M striker, but to Newcastle he was. He scored all their goals and was the player their team revolved around. You can say the same for any player. Whilst some may not think Sterling is worth the valuation Liverpool have placed upon him, he is valued at that and it will take a bid of £50M for his services.

Should we ever find ourselves in a position where we question Sergio's worth some may say he is not worth say, £70M, whereas City may value him at £120M. It is the same principal.

Hazard- over priced prospect according to some before he joined Chelsea. End of the season, toast of the PL and creative genius. There's always a gamble involved, but some less than others, sterling is a lesser gamble.

those 50m will be speard out in an investment over 5-10 years. not bothered at all he costs 40-50 cuz he is a 20 y/o that we really need on the right. I think its just a matter of time now until we sign this boy.
