Obviously somebody's already tapped this guy up .... Do we do business like that?? According to rumours we did with Sagna

I'll happily place a bet with anyone that he doesn't join another English club this summer. He might two summers from now, but it won't happen this summer.

I do not doubt your owners resolve regarding this Barney however if they dig their heels in with fingers in ears you are playing a dangerous game.
You would have to know Sterling would man up and honour his contract but how many players do that nowadays ?. He may just go through the motions which is not an unlikely scenario.

Not having a dig but i think you will not get cl or challenge for the title next season bud. Sterling has been up front with his desires to fight for trophies now seemingly. The idea of working at it with you guys doesn't seem to appeal to him.
If it were me in your shoes i would flog him for a pretty penny. You get rid of any chance of toxicity in the dressing room and can move on with a nice chunk of cash.

His agent has split from Impact Sports Management to set up on his own,for me he will be going for "the payday"

Really?

His agent knows he has a 30m+ player in his hands will be wanting to cash in no doubt, for some agents this could be a once in a lifetime occurrence so maybe you can't blame him if he is one of them.

Exactly sam,his agent will be going all out for a move to anywhere and will do his best to talk sterling into it......rival or not.

You asked "do we do business like that".......I answered.

Dunno what your problem is....." It's not unusual",meaning EVERY fucker is at it,as you even suggested.

This is one we absolutely need to sign. Young with bags of potential and will learn a great deal playing with big players.

Oh, and he's homegrown.

No brainer for me.

Him instead of Navas running down the wing with Kun down the middle would frighten any defence. The Sterling Silva puns would be great too.

I have a feeling he is going to be one of our primary targets.

Both him and Wilshire are the only homegrown players worthy of where we want to be and both would be an improvement on Milner and Lampard.

I do think it will be a fight between us and Chelsea though, I am not convinced by Arsenal's supposed interest but we will see!

It's more complex than that I believe. His agent also represents Berahino and has taken both Sterling and Berahino with him. He's given them a percentage of his new agency. Therefore, it's in both players interests on several different fronts to move this Summer, hence the boat rocking on their parts. Not only do they get the move, higher wage and better clubs, but they will gain income from their percentage of the company plus attract bigger names to their agency who'll have seen the mouth-watering deals and want that kind of thing for themselves.
