The Barca rumours are nonsense that were created by his Agent to get more and more money. Sterling has no intention of leaving except at the end of his contract for free. He's just playing City the way Milner did. If we did manage to sell him in January, it would be for relative peanuts and then with us offsetting his salary for the remaining twelve months. Because of the wages we pay, we can never get much for players. Just look at Hart as an example. We "sold" him for three million, but then had to give him all of it to offset his lower salary otherwise he wouldn't leave.

If he plays funny buggers its would be very damaging to his marketability, demand, and form. If your hypothetical situation went ahead and we reciprocated and benched him permanently...He would be going into his late 20's looking for his last big contract and then expecting big money based off shit form and nothing but bench in his last years.

Plus he's already stated he'd like to play in spain. If he wants playtime and that is the most important thing, as he's also previously suggested, then he'll move sooner rather than later.

Sterling wants play time before the World Cup, which could always be his last. It wasn’t his agent who gave interviews saying he wants to play abroad, or made him fight with Pep or look unhappy on the pitch. We could design a advantageous swap involving him

If he's not happy here, winning PL titles, CC Cups, FA Cups and getting to CL finals then we need to move him on. If he thinks he's got a better chance of winning more medals at Barcelona - a basket case - than here, the sooner he goes the better.

He been pretty much dreadful for over a year and won't be missed.

We won't get a decent fee from them so we need to find a good swap deal or two. If swaps are involved, we can make out we got £100m for him and they can make out they got him for £50m - a win/win for both clubs.

I still can't make out why he wants to play for a club that clearly are in trouble and have a a real chance of going bust.
