I would sell only if we would bring a quality replacement. If he will leave the club, we need a pacey, direct runner on the wing.It all depends though. Who would come in to replace him and how much it would cost. There can be more value in keeping him for a year and wishing him the vest on a free, than getting something fod him and having to spend big on a replacement. Particularly at a time when two new forwards need to settle in simultaneously.
You're looking at it from a fans perspective. Take the football side out of it... you're asking an employee to possibly give up some of his future earnings so his soon-to-be former employer can afford to pay someone else?Because it gives the club money to put towards his replacement? If you’re happy for a valuable asset to walk away for free and join our European rivals for nothing then good for you.
He’s fully entitled to do that but I personally believe if a player has any fond feelings for their club they would want to see them paid and not just walk away for nothing so they can get a big juicy signing on bonus.
Only 10 players have scored more goals that Stering in our entire history.Appearances for City:
Aguero - 390
Fernandinho - 383
Kompany - 360
Sterling - 339
If he isn't a club legend I don't know what is. If you begin to look at the numbers of goals and assists he's provided in that period, and the number of trophies we won whilst he was a mainstay in the team, then it only reinforces the point.
And we need a replacement too.It ain't rocket science. If he goes this summer, we get as much for him as possible. We ain't a fucking charity and we shouldn't be helping other teams.

I get the "fond feelings" stuff but any person is entitled to earn what they can, and shouldn't be made to look bad for doing so.
Don't forget, it's a 2 way street. Any club can, and do release players at the end of a contract against a players wishes.
I want Sterling to stay, or I would prefer money for the club if he goes, but the way you're speaking about it, he'd be 'wrong' to see out his contract (and will slag him off if he does)
Spot on. He has repaid the fee we paid in unforgettable moments, trophies, goals and assists ten times over. People are so weird and irrational when it comes to Raz.Cool. I couldn't disagree more. He's a club legend already just like Kun, Silva, and Dinho. He absolutely deserves to make his own decisions next. I also don't really understand why any supporter would give a fuck - its not our money. City are so well run they can afford to have a situation like the Sterling one without it affecting their financial stability. Moreover, he is entitled to fulfil the contract the club gave him. Especially after his performances since he joined the club.
I would say that’s his biggest contribution
