Bizarre from the club especially if not replaced. Left with a bunch of inverted wingers and nobody who can stretch the pitch and run in behind. We have to sign a replacement.
I don’t think we want to sell him but if we don’t he goes for nothing in a year, as he won’t sign another contract with us, which I guess City want to avoid.

Chance for Cole Palmer perhaps.

We will…………. next summer.

really don’t understand the clubs logic of almost refusing to replace players in the window they leave. Kompany, Yaya, Aguero, soon Sterling.

50m is the minimum we should be getting for Sterling! Chelsea are desperate too and where are they going to get a player of Sterling quality his stats his age for 50m home grown to it’s a bargain if they get him for 50m

It's okay to let him leave as long as we have a replacement. Because else it looks a disaster weakening our options for the wing.

They won’t sign anyone if they don’t improve the squad they wait for the right guy. It’s a gamble with injuries but better than United‘s approach of hoarding average players they then can’t sell.

It would be a big mistake if we didn't get someone to replace him. We need right winger.

Agree but there’s certainly players available on the market who could improve us - Gnabry, Leao, Raphinha.

I don't know who is out there that you can sign as a direct Sterling replacement.

But he wants to go and if he wants to go now he would presumably want to go at the end of his deal. Better to grab a fee and get his wages off the books because he was very far from being a nailed-on starter for the coming year.

I halfway wonder if you might see more of Bernardo on the right wing such as was done in the second half of the 18/19 season. Phillips, Foden, Grealish, or even McAtee picking up more of the minutes in midfield.

Pep's City have shown us that you don't necessarily "replace" a departed player - more so find other ways to use the ones you have.
