Raising the pension age to 75

They are only splashing it around on front pages that 75 is going to be the new pension age so when they make it 70 everyone will think thats not bad really!

Lot's of reports johnson wants to take IDS think tank suggestion and raise the pension age to 75

Whats next lower the working age to 12?

Personally I think it's a shite idea.

65 is long enough, somone who has works 25-30 years and paid for their pension deserves to retire and enjoy it rather than be finishing closer to 80 and probably death.

Absolute genius what a great idea when you take into consideration occupations like say one involving physical labour such as one in the construction industry, heavens above they will be dropping like flies once they get into/nearing there 70's. No need to have to bat off all that bad press when some poor sod dies during a PIP's appeals or benefit sanction. This will save an absolute packet because many of them will never reach retirement and be paid benefits. Those that do couple of years and they will be shuffling off this mortal coil anyhow. What a guy IDS the man is just so talented when he comes up with these ideas it just brings warm glow to your heart thinking that he really cares about this.

It's the 21st century answer to cheap labour in minimum wage jobs. Just look at the supermarket counters or B&Q etc now. Massive swing from young checkout girls to elderly (60's/70's) employees already.

Nothing wrong with people supplementing their pensions with paid work if that's what these people want. And it's usually short hours, part time work.
