7 for me.

Potential to be a lot higher if Kaky is what they say he is, which is always a dubious prospect with Brazilian talent. For every Ronaldo, Rivaldo, Neymar from Brazil there's a Diego, Robinho, Alexandre Pato and countless others that are highly touted and don't become what they are said to have been as youngsters.

Grealish is a great signing for us. You can see in the 3 games so far he adds what we didn't have in midfield and out wide, and that 10 minute cameo with De Bruyne against Spurs that combination looked they could tear the league and Grealish can some weight of Kev's shoulders. And we haven't seen Phil with him yet either.

Happy we kept everyone that apparently wanted out. Laporte looks hungry to cement his spot, Bernardo looks his usual busy self again and Jesus looks reborn on a wing.

The outgoings were obvious, and brought money in so a 7 for me.

Underwhelming.
Still no LB
Still no Striker
Storing up problems longer term with DM replacements needed.
Walker, Mr Whippy and Kev into their thirties and a couple of players in the waiting room wanting to leave.
How anyone thinks Grealish is the answer to that lot needs to give their head a wobble.

6, the failure to do the most important position is criminal imo. Grealish is top class though and glad to see bernardo and laporte stay and both look happy and committed to the club still, long may that continue.

7 for me.

We've broken our transfer to sign one of the best English talents out there. We now have a very good core of English players, topped with some of the finest talent in world football.

We haven't lost anybody bar Aguero and Garcia from the 1st team squad, both who had very little impact on last season, so our squad is stronger. Retaining Laporte and Bernardo are as good as any signings we've made as it ensures the squad is strong.

A top striker would've made it a 10/10 window but I'm not going to complain when we've spent £100m and still have a great squad.

A window of delay.

Signed a good player but not one that was needed. Delayed strengthening the three positions that needed addressing. Which tbh I would rather see than making panic buys, overpaying, or making lesser quality makeshift signings, but imo is also a bit of a waste of a Pep season.

And when added to areas that will need addressing next year with ultimate departures, will make for a busy and expensive window with a bit of an overhaul that will need to gel, in what could be Pep's last season potentially.

At the start of the window we needed a Striker, a DMF, and a conventional LB to compete with zinch. When we extended fernandinho for a year, I honestly thought it was a great short term move to allow the club to focus on the other two, or even one. We go into the season without a striker or a natural left back in the squad.

Keeping the existing players isn't for me that big of a success to make something of. They were already here, nobody came for them with a meaningful offer. But I do welcome it, given the quality we have.

The positive for me I guess, the club showed they can be stubborn. And patient. I had no issue with how the club handled the Garcia transfer when they set their stall out and refused to fold. This was somewhat similar.

Many will conclude that levy was uncompromising but nobody seems to notice that it was our club that was resolute. He invited bids, we didn't offer any more than we were comfortable with. Same with nuno mendes, sporting teased all summer with claimed links and prices they would reject or accept. Maybe could have been quicker to act when it became a thing, but by then it smacks of panic a bit. Even Dortmund for all their bravado 'named their price' for Haaland a few times. Pep said before the window we wouldnt pay big crazy fees. He said all along he would happily go with the squad we had. They showed those claims can be backed. It maybe sways us as fans because of Khaldoon saying eaely on that you need to strengthen when on top, replace key players etc, and Pep saying early in the window you need to refresh, and that weighed on our minds. But I do think in the long run, enforcing this image of knowing who we want and what we will pay for them, is just as significant as bringing bodies in. Particularly when you spent 100m on a player you rate without blinking, makes it all the stronger imo.

For me it will really depend on how we use our youth players and squad now. I honestly would rather see Torres given a go than signing someone like Aubameyang (who I rate way more than many here btw) as a short term fix. I'd rather see Delap given a go than bring in a more expensive player with potential but unproven from elsewhere. And I'd like to see what Lavia can do with a tried and tested Dinho around. That would not only be beneficial to the season, but would long term enforce the image noted above, plus also offer encouragement to youth prospects at the club or joining tue club. We've set that out, I really really hope we back it now.

Really bizarre window for city.

We are in desperate need of a striker to help where we might struggle against Spurs away, Utd, Chelsea etc but instead we go all out on Grealish (who is a superb player) but we have kept Silva (good news) and Foden is on the way back. Looks like we have a heavy midfield and nothing at top. But what do I know, the club knows better.

I still think £25m for Ings to Villa is a great purchase and something we should have pounced on even as a plan B approach to games.

I do wonder if we are holding out for Haaland's release cause to drop next year. (Wishful thinking)

A slightly above average 6 from me, if we'd signed a quality striker it would've been 10. Big chance missed really and I bet deep down Pep isn't happy. Like others have said I really see us struggling to score against the likes of Chelsea, Liverpool, possibly rags because there will be no focal point in the team
