RB Leipzig (A) - Post-match Thread

€2.5mill.

I’ll get slated for this, but Pep has had another one if his CL brain farts. A dead rubber, f*ck all else to play for bar €2.5mill Euros, with Wolves and Leeds coming up and a hectic Christmas schedule. As for the kids getting game time, do me a favour!
Was surprised Gundo and Walker played, but apart from that I’m assuming he picked players who need the game time and the only way to build sharpness is to play - that match will serve us well in the future. Much bigger fish to fry.

If they deem that serious and increase it, it will tell a story on its own. He was a dickhead for getting drawn into it but some refs would have just booked him. It was hardly in the violent category
If you think it’s just a booking it tells a story on its own…

poor all round tonight. Unsure how elite professional footballers can be offside so much. I’ll take a bad performance in a dead rubber

Orange card as per the daft foul on Jesus at the weekend

Let’s hope that Grealish isn’t our Rodney Marsh.
He’s impressed me big time last 18mths, & he’s been “decent”for us so far, but tonight he was fuckin dreadful, luckily for him 9 others were as well, so he won’t get all the flack

Bad performance although not unexpected. Disappointed but Saturday more important and we move on. Oh and the ref must have been either on the take or is seriously shit. Possibly both.

Hate losing but that was the one to lose. We move on. I thought Steffen Zinch and Ake did well but rest a bit disjointed. Grealish not having any luck in front of goal. Two deflections.

The fact that pep complains about the players playing too much, then puts a team out like that is strange. Doesn't make him wrong, but why complain about it?
I'm not defending Walker, and for an experienced player that was mental. He was a player who has played loads of minutes. Why was he even on.
Also think it's a harsh red, doesn't hurt the guy but maybe he could of. Shame we aren't reffed like that would be playing against 9 every game after 70 mins.
Who has played too much there apart from maybe gundogan and walker ?

I’m not arsed about the result or performance. I’m arsed about needlessly losing our first choice right back for at least leg of the next round

its a game that really city and pep did not need to win. but the officials bloody made it 100% we was not winning.
ok its a meaningless game but uefa and its bent officials made it a ugly game and walker lost the plot at the end

something happened for walker to lose it that bad ? the stone wall pen. the stones booking. letting there centre back kick us off the park without punishment. maybe he said something to walker and enough was enough

the thing i am taking out of the game tonight is manchester city are not going to be allow to win the champions league this season ? its a stark warning after what i watched tonight by the officials in a meaningless game
