RB Leipzig (H) - CL | Post-Match Thread

Scored 6 yet it somehow felt like we were quite a bit off our best. Give the ball away a bit too much and rather unbalanced with a few too many players only really wanting to play in the opposition half and not track back to help the defence.

I thought Cancelo was very good going forward but with Mahrez and KDB in front of him, he didn't get much defensive support. Grealish also played well and scored a lovely goal. Torres had some good moments and unlucky to have his goal ruled out. KDB put some decent crosses in but otherwise looked a bit rusty and understandably not totally fit. Defence all did ok but didn't get much help at times.

Excellent result but we need to tighten up for the tougher games coming up.

They just walked through our midfield until Fernandinho showed the rest how it should be done.
 
Main concern from this game is hopefully Rodri isn't out a while. Defensively we'll be fine once Walker is in the team and Ake is out.

Playing De Bruyne also impacted the midfield, defensive cover and pressing. He'll be fine once up to speed.

I do actually. (You are ignoring every time we don’t look shit with him in defence because it doesn’t fit your scapegoat agenda).

Ake & Zin looked well off the pace.

Eddie very nonchalant.

Super Jack is class.

The rest did ok but not good enough as a defensive unit tonight.

It was good fun tho :)

For all the grief he’s getting I think you can trace all three of their goals to midfielders losing it and putting an overload on the back four.
 
More pissed off that my "Ooooooh-Brobby-Brobby-Brobby" post got no likes, than I am about the "apparent" shit defending.

6-3, can't really moan about that IMO

okay, well I don't. 1st goal he's not covering the attacker, second goal he's not covering the run, 3rd goal he overcommits, mistimes his tackle and leaves space in behind.

It all trickles down. not everything is his fault all the time but our defense as a unit works far worse with him on the pitch. maybe it's lack of experience.
 
Great 3 points as all teams will take points off each other in this group but it was a poor performance which sounds strange after winning 6-3.

unlucky to have his goal ruled out but Torres was invisible for much of the game, the midfield was extremely sloppy and slow with huge gaps between midfield and defence ehich they got into often and the defence was all over the place and Ederson back to one of those games where everything on target was a goal.

He was even weak/poor with their offside goal.
 
Our defending was pure comedy at times.
We cannot afford to be doing that v PSG, we will get fisted.
