Great first three seasons. Poor this season overall aside from late Novemmber up to the end of January. Not good enough for European football though.

His knowledge of and experience in this league is a huge benefit for him.

Wouldn't be too upset to see him go although having an experience head like him to help out the youngsters wouldn't go amiss.

Barry has been a great servant to our club since arriving, yes he has had his moments but haven't they bloody all this season.

Barry's only issue was his declining pace which was shown in the WC against Germany. Unfortunately we require someone younger with faster legs to be brought in this summer and if Rodders can stay injury free then we will have a fantastic player on our hands and english to boot

Did you go today? Well if Barry plays, Norwich dont score 3. Simple as that. We dont often concede even 2 in a game when Barry plays. Milner will never have the football intelligence of Gareth Barry and hes not alone in that.

also if yaya would have played then we wouldn't of conceded 3, although I think barry is a good player we need better if we are to move on to the next level and milner has been are second best player this year behind zabbaletta and given the chance would do great in cm for us because although he may not quite read the game like barry he is twice as mobile so easily makes up for that

Agree about the Yaya part, i know people really rate Milner on here and i do love his work rate and attitude but really don't he has the class required to push us to the next level like you say. I think he would struggle in a footballing side where one touch football is pivotal. I know a lot will disagree but thats my opinion.

I swear to god I must be crazy, i really must be because every time I see Gareth Barry play I cannot believe he can get in our team, he's slow, he got the touch of Jimmy Saville and he gives possession away endlessly yet he plays virtually every game. Am I really missing something, maybe I have blinkers on and can't see the good things that he does...can someone explain this please?

I know Garcia is slow but he is better than Barry and Milner in that position would be 10x better than Barry. We have Toure who seems to do nothing for 80 minutes in a game and then decides he wants to run with the ball with Gareth Barry next to him, no wonder we were so shit this season. Hopefully Jack Rodwell can stay fit next year!

It's funny that this line is trotted out every time someone says they don't rate Barry highly. He's a good player and was important for us last season, but I think a lot of Blues overrate him.

Let's take a look at the facts -
We would not have won the league last year without Barry
We would not have won the FA cup either without Barry.
Barry does what is necessary when it's necessary and he does it well .
He does not need pace he has a football brain which is lacking in all current Englamd players.
He has had the odd ' bad game ' this season - Show me someone in the City team who hasn't this season .
Keep the guy and peopLe may learn from him.
