He's too slow and has been the weak link in midfield for 2 seasons.
Clearly the club are trying to sign this Fernandinho fella to replace him.

Hmmm, not sure if serious
Let's take a look at the facts -
We would not have won the league last year without Barry
We would not have won the FA cup either without Barry.
Barry does what is necessary when it's necessary and he does it well .
He does not need pace he has a football brain which is lacking in all current Englamd players.
He has had the odd ' bad game ' this season - Show me someone in the City team who hasn't this season .
Keep the guy and peopLe may learn from him.
Folk who want rid really do not know football simple really.

Only this. Unfashionable player to the ignorant

I swear to god I must be crazy, i really must be because every time I see Gareth Barry play I cannot believe he can get in our team, he's slow, he got the touch of Jimmy Saville and he gives possession away endlessly yet he plays virtually every game. Am I really missing something, maybe I have blinkers on and can't see the good things that he does...can someone explain this please?

I know Garcia is slow but he is better than Barry and Milner in that position would be 10x better than Barry. We have Toure who seems to do nothing for 80 minutes in a game and then decides he wants to run with the ball with Gareth Barry next to him, no wonder we were so shit this season. Hopefully Jack Rodwell can stay fit next year!
Are you sure that you're not taking very long blinks during games, our only consistent central midfielder this season, running around like a blue arsed fly making up YawnYawn Fat Arse Toure

Mr consistent
Nearly always delivers a 7/10 rating, occasionally dropping to a 6/10 rating.

Southampton away probably a 2 or 3, Wigan in the Cup Final maybe a 4 ? He's been great for us but he can't be a starter next season surely. We need players with more closing speed to win the ball and recovery speed when defending.

So 2 bad games all season then....

Missed him today. I didn't think Yaya Toure was fit at Wembley. Yet he was even worse today.

Barry protects the defence. Yaya just ambled all day.

I have some doubts about Barry at the really top level, but he is very very consistent. Barry or Garcia should have played today.

Barry does the job he gets asked to do brilliantly.

He sweeps up behind our attackers and plays the simple ball to our more talented attacking players. His footballing intelligence means more often than not he's in the right position and the number of second balls he picks up his testament to this.

Maybe not Champions League winners standard but certainly good enough for Premier League week in week out.

Ask your average fan about players like Barry and it will be a 50/50 split about how good he is and nothing new there.
If you ask people in the game about him and just about every manager would have had him in their team over the past 10 years.

Its no rocket science really.

Been poor this season after a brilliant season last year. I think he's on the decline and think he should only be used in a rotation role from now on.

Very true, his abscense today stuck out like a sore thumb.
