I guess so Lancet. The thing that really gets on my tits is that refs aren't made accountable for their mistakes.
Not only are they not accountable, their mistakes are actively backed by the FA to the point of virtually claiming night is day. I still cannot get over their decision to uphold Milijas's red the other week. That should be looked into imo as it was outrageous to the point of looking corrupt.

Too true, there is something dodgy going on in English football and i firmly believe that. Surely such cock-ups should carry a drop in league for a game or 2 or any card or decision that is overturned should mean a fine for the ref/linesman involved

To be honest, unless a ref makes shit loads of big mistakes (which to be fair Foy does regularly) I don't think refs should be punished or that it particularly undermines them to overturn a decision. We all know refs make errors, they always will, admitting that by overturning decisions is not undermining anyone. The FA blindly backing every decision a ref makes is undermining football though.

The one thing that is severley lacking is consistency..
One tackle is a yellow the next same tackle isnt...a player on a yellow often gets away with murder before getting a second,
There will be within one week a tackle twice as bad as vinnies that will either go unpunished or simply a yellow..

Referees are there to uphold the laws of the game as written down..

Truth is....they dont... they govern the game according to their ideals..

I see your point mate. The level of refs needs to improve significantly. The odd mistake i can agree with as its a tough job but across the whole league this year there has been some shocking decisions

makes you want to weep
Scissor tackle from behind and no Red, no Yellow not even a warning!

Who says the referees don't have an agenda against us?

AND no contact with the ball whatsoever. Kompany however won the ball cleanly. There's absolutely no consistency, but then again what's new ?
We see it every week.

Looks like Roberto is gonna appeal today for VK's red card. Any news on how long it takes for a decision to come back anyone?

Yes, sadly there are some pretty shit refs around. Atwell, Clattenburg, Martin Atkinson and Foy are just disasters waiting to happen at the moment.

We should forward that clip to the FA.
If as people are saying he was sent off because the ref followed the letter of the law then why was the letter of the law in that incident or the Evra elbow.
Carrick also made a late challenge when we were breaking The ref saw it played on and didnt even speak to him.
A catalogue of incompetence.
Whilst saying the above I appreciate how hard it is particularly when the players are doing everything they can to 'cheat'

On the subject of red/yellow cards there needs to be some differentation introduced.
A bad tackle such as Lampards last week or consistent fouling such as Evra yesterday receive the same punishment as aplayer over celebrating a goal or petulant dissent.Maybe a different col card for the petty offences and keep the yellow for what it was originally meant to be.

Evra should have been sent off in the first couple of minutes for elbowing Richards. Problem we have is that te Wolves guy who was sent off shouldnt hve been and they appealed and lost. In saying that Rodwell won his appeal earlier this season.

I think it all depends on when the FA say they will hear the appeal. If they want to have the hearing, say, tomorrow, then City have to go along with that.

My gut feeling is that's what will happen. Especially if the FA have already made their minds up. They will want to prevent VK from playing on Weds come what may.
