Re: Kompany's red card and appeal? (merged)

I predict.

We lose the appeal, but Foy is dropped because he allowed Rooney's penalty to be taken with another United player standing in the area.

Foy has told City he thinks the tackle warrants a red card, we don't agree. He's said he won't change his mind but you can appeal it and see if the Panel agree.

If that is true then I'd be a little bit worried that they might even increase his ban.

Only increase for a 'frivolous' appeal... This is clearly not!

Where's this from?

Welcome to two days ago! I think if you check the news you might find that we have appealed and the panel sit today!

2pm decision apparently, downgraded to yellow would be nice, can't see it though.
I might be wrong but I was udner the impression that you can't downgrade a red card to a yellow card, can't think of an appeal that has resulted in that outcome. I thought that it is either completely recinded, so no card, or it stands as a red.

Correct. Which is why it won't be rescinded. If he says he would have given a yellow, the red will stand.

Actually confident it will be overturned - especially if they overturned the Rodwell red card, which was worse!
