An Independent Regulatory Commission has today dismissed a claim of wrongful dismissal from Manchester City’s Vincent Kompany following his red card for Serious Foul Play in The FA Cup Third Round tie between Manchester City v Manchester United on 8 January 2012.

Kompany will serve a four-match suspension with immediate effect. The suspension consists of a statutory three-match suspension for Serious Foul Play plus one additional game given this is Kompany’s second dismissal of the season.

The FA's website for players suspened in the premiership lists Vincent Kompany,banned for from 8/1/2012 to 25/1/2012 for the duration of 4 games.

Is this prior to appeal or have the FA updated there website that quick???

If we lose the appeal he's banned for five games.

the extra game isn't mandatory. only if the appeal is considered 'frivolous'. but knowing our luck...

No mate, thats not true. A ban will only be extended if the FA deem that the appeal is a waste of time.... I cant remember the word they use to describe this???

But basically if we were appealing to delay the ban so that Vinny could play in an important game. Just as United did with Ferdinand a couple of seasons back against us
