Re: Kompany's red card and appeal? (merged)

Sadly it was never going to be over turned.

The appeal system in this country is utter crap! I cannot think of 5 successful appeals in the last 2 seasons in the premeir league which is quite shocking considering there is a dubious decision almost every weekend.

Fergie, Rooney and smackheadcamelgob making all of these public statements because they know that Kompany is our best defender and they are praying they can overtake us in the next couple of matches. I just hope Henry scores a hatrick against them when they play Le Arse, before pissing on paul scholes ginger fucking head.

Chill lads and lasses and just smile

Karma has a wonderful way of evening things out

Look at the rags draw for example

As for Rooney, Evra and Foy, they will reap what they have sown

Of that I am convinced

Absolutely bang on pal!

Indeed, Rooney got his overhead kick, we got an FA Cup. They got a Charity Shield, we got a 6-1. They got a 3-2, we get a.....

Fill the blanks. :)

If you've watched City's last 10 games or so and not come to the conclusion that we're treated differently by refs, you haven't been watching.

It isn't even up for argument anymore, this is 100% true.

Here's a great example:

City 3-1 Wolves
City 51%-49% possession
City 18-6 fouls
City 2 yellows, 1 red - Wolves 1 yellow

There was no simple incompetence in the above match, Stuart Atwell was corrupt. It's as simple as that.

If you have TWO feet off the ground you are deememd to not be in control of your body and therefore making a reckless tackless and like it or lump it that is what referees will view these tackles and penalise accordingly - complain all you wish but that the way these types of tackles are being penalised and there are countless examples of this - agreed there are example where they are not being given but that is to do with the imcompetence of the referee.

The rules are the same but the interpretation is different

1. Two feet off the ground automatically assumed that you are not in control of your body hence a reckless tackle
2. One foot on the ground assumes that you are in control of your body and then the excessive force or whatever then comes into it.

its shit because there is no leeway or common sense to be applied but that is the way it is viewed.

Although common sense suggests you're right, "reckless" is actually a less severe offence than "excessive force", according to the rules;

"Reckless" means that the player has acted with complete disregard to the danger to, or consequences for, an opponent. A player who plays in a reckless manner must be cautioned.
"Using excessive force" means that the player has far exceeded the necessary use of force and is in danger of injuring his opponent. A player who uses excessive force must be sent off.

The 'two feet off the ground' thing seems to be an interpretation of the following;

"Any player who lunges at an opponent in challenging for the ball from the front, from the side or from behind using one or both legs, with excessive force and endangering the safety of an opponent is guilty of serious foul play..... The referee must send off the player guilty of serious foul play..."

In my view, Kompany's challenge doesn't satisfy the criteria for a red card (there was no excessive force used), though it does fall into the simplified version for thick-as-pigshit referees who are unable to consider the finer points of the law, i.e. "if both the player's feet leave the ground during a tackle, get out the red card. Don't worry about any of the details, just send him off. Unless you decide not to, which is also okay".

R.I.P Tackling.

until next week at least when jones does it and it's hailed as a wonderful tackle..

onwards and upwards blues! at least kompany only misses 2 league games not 4, that is afterall the most important thing!

Think about the context of the sending off. Derby match, 10th minute, first foul. For THAT tackle — winning all the ball and making LITERALLY no contact with Nani, who does not go to ground or even appeal for a free kick — to warrant a STRAIGHT red card is asinine. If you want to enforce this silly two-footed rule, a verbal warning is quite sufficient at that stage of the game given everything above.

There is no way a STRAIGHT red card should have been produced. Regardless of the City comeback Foy effectively ended the game. Maybe it's just inept refereeing, but City has consistently been the victim of it this season.

Best motivator to the squad, that. Stuff the FA, stuff the cheating **** Foy. Stuff the sister-in-law-shagger, his unpunished two-footed tackles and Evra's fucking elbow.

The team dug in and showed belief; good time to blood Savic and feed off the injustice.

Stuff racism too.

The rags will get the shit kicked at KlAnfield and we get a final. Karma.

After seeing Rooney's comments on twitter about it being a straight red, I have gone through YouTube to look at all of his despicable fouls and found this (sorry if already posted!)......

<a class="postlink" href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?NR=1&feature=endscreen&v=gZJn4UgpjY4" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.youtube.com/watch?NR=1&featu ... ZJn4UgpjY4</a>

Really!? So why was you bitching about getting a yellow for something FAR worse?
