I hope so, I can remember watching the Gillingham play off in my living room with my parents as a kid, even though I wasn't there I've always wanted to go to Wembley with City, never thought I'd see us get there for decades a couple of years ago, but now with the changes to our club it's a possibility and I'm buzzing for it.
That goes down as one of the best days of my life. And the longest and most tiring. Started with a dawn trip to Piccadilly train station, and ended up with a beautiful train ride back happily contemplating life back in the big time of the Championship.

Best bit was walking back to Wembley Tube station with a crushed and ecstatic City crowd still in a state of disbelief.

haha, everything before that point as a city fan is sketchy for me, vague details of games over the previous couple of seasons and the odd programme, but from that moment clear as day, I think it will probably always stay with me as my favourite city moment, which I think helps me to appreciate football more than say a rag who's just so used to premier league's their idea of suffering is not finishing ahead of chelsea.

no I know you didn't, i just didn't know if that was what Balti was inferring, i just quoted the last post.

I'm one of the first on the 3k "signed up on the first day the waiting list came out and then took the bonus options to guarantee being at the front of the queue" really I go to most home games anyway i'm only getting a seasoncard next season hopefully to guarantee a seat over the next few years if I go to uni and so I can build up my points over 2k and hopefully get to cup finals eventually, without season cards it's gonna be impossible.
There are 10s of thousands of tickets for Cup Finals. If we ever get to one, you wont have a problem.

Exactly. Loyalty points are going to get you to the big away league games where there's a big demand for not many tickets, but for semis and finals there aren't enough die-hards to snap them all up, so after that there'll be plenty on offer to regular SC holders.

Even though I think the loyalty points bonus is a good idea by the club, I think it's the hard core who would be going anyway who are most interested in it.

The way to get everyone interested is to reduce the prices as much as possible. But I've got a feeling that Reading will pull a decent crowd despite it's late Sunday KO on TV...

Remember there's another game coming up next Thursday...

Some form of incentive has to be in place for Cup tickets, but people have earned points really, so here would be my suggestion for final tickets sales (the point bands aren't important):

Day 1: 5000 points w/ regular cup game attendance
Day 2: 5000 points w/o regular cup game attendance
Day 3: 4000 points w/ regular cup game attendance
Day 4: 4000 points w/o regular cup game attendance
Day 5: 3000 points w/ regular cup game attendance
Day 6: 3000 points w/o regular cup game attendance
Day 7: 2000 points w/ regular cup game attendance
etc

I would be in favour of something like this, but what would be the definition of 'regular' cup attendance? Would it be all homes? homes and aways?

When the ticket office gives me a salary of £35k+, then I'll reveal the rest of my master plan.

I think we'll start with at least 7000 loyalty points and it could be even higher due to the implementation of the 50/100 points for the recent cup games.

The people with high points now will just carry on going regardless of any new system so in effect changes are worthless.
The idea of a cup bonus system could work but I see the same people at away games so again their points will grow.
As with myself life will ebb and flow and football attendance will change as a priority in life so
all you can do is go when you can, get the points, hope you get to the big games. Do that and your turn will come.
It did for me.

I'm a Season Card holder but haven't bought (many) Cup/EL tickets with it this season, even though I have attended all but one game (inc Leics & WBA away) but sometimes via cash sale or a mate's ticket... It's complicated and I'm not going into the details here, but basically it means we can share the cost of the tickets which atm is more important than any loyalty points that are on offer... If I can't get a ticket for a final, then even though I'll be gutted, so be it.

I've got a ticket for Sunday but again haven't been able to buy it via my SC. (No credit until weekend so mate's been down today to get them on general sale)

Basically, I wouldn't assume that if SC holders haven't bought tickets via their SC, then they won't be going. Not everyone obsesses after the loyalty points because there's a lot of us who will never catch up with the old regulars and probably reason that if tickets are available and I want to go, then one will materialise, one way or another.

Am i missing something here mate, the tickets you got on open sale why didnt you give them your supporter number ?

What's so special about YOUR seat? Couldn't you just relocate to a seat near where your ST seat is and save yourself/the club all this hassle?

No,not at the time, as the 3rd tier was closed!

Anyway,Lisa Eaton from the ticket office phoned me and has now put me in level 3,near to my allocated season seat(not mine, but i sit there every week)
She explained the following
Our average attendance for non prem games is 30K
Our average for FA cup is 27K
We got 25.5K for Villa
15K season card holders have NOT bought a ticket for the Reading game
The 3rd tier holds 10K
She said they are looking at how to sort things in future#
They are trying to fill the lower tiers to create a better attmosphere, better for tv etc, where everyone is together, rather than dotted around a half emty stadium,to which i agree,as i was sat with no one near me against Villa(i moved on the night to sit with friends,as it was half empty)
She also explained that ALL the third tier is not open, just the front rows, and will open more rows as and when
She understood my concerns and agreed that season card holders should get first choice of "there seats" but it would be very hard to do this
She said it has taken till today to sell out the lower tiers, and there is only 5 days till the match
She explained it very well, and comfirmed that the club do look on Bluemoon,so know of a lot of issues, good or bad,we encounter being City fans
I was only letting you know about the email i sent, and i have now got a reasonable outcome to it,and an insite into why the club do such things(where are the 15K season card holders?)
Lets hope we have a similar problem for the Semi at Wembley, which by the way,she says there is a meeting next week at Wembley,to discuss allocation and the criteria for how to purchase a ticket, should we win on Sunday.
She said it would be on loyalty points,as is the normal way to do it

Come on city!!!!!!!!!!

So I was right, then?

City have gone about this the totally correct way.

...that depends if customer satisfaction is an issue for them.

You can't please everybody, you should know that better than most!

I have now gauged there are plenty of City fans who probably go in to restaurants and pubs and say, 'Hey you are in my seat'.

People will always have something to piss and moan about.

When I'm watching on tele on Sunday night, I will be contented to know the crowd in the lower tiers will look good on the eye.

You can't please everybody but you can try not to piss around 8000 people for no reason

Ironically, as I type this, I'm on hold to City for the second time this week, currently running at 22 minutes...

I always aim to please, Tolm, my supporters like your good self are important to me ;-)

Earning a crust, relocating a seat and holding up the Fifth Column all at once.

That's juggling, pal, not multitasking ;-)
