real ale

In my experience, those who like their beer chemically cleaned, chilled and filtered are invariably gay.

Do you know anyone like this?

Shut it Bunny you bell toed bastard ;-P

I bet all you real ale drinkers wear Aran sweaters and smoke pipes. Bugs has definitely smoked a few pipes in his time.

I highly recommend this Ale:

Natural Brewing Co

Irresistible Premium Ale

Normally £1.97 but on offer at Sainsburys 2 for £3

Bloody lovely

Cheers now

Must say beer festivals aren't the best place to pick up a hot lady though.
Went to the Wigan one last week - lots of beardy men and odd looking young men - virgins I'm guessing.

I miss that pub on/just off Rochdale Road - The Beer Engine? - fantastic place. Constantly changing beers, great atmosphere and possibly the best jukebox I've ever known - Led Zep, Hendrix, Rainbow, Bowie, Floyd, Dylan, Beatles, The Who and just about every other 60/70's classic band or singer on there.

And if you went in through the week around 5ish there were free chip barms - full of salt mind you ;-)

Only real ale I've tried was 'Santa's Sack' at Xmas time.

I did enjoy it though and have been meaning to try some more real ales for a while now, always comes round to a Carling though haha...

are you talking about The Beer House? its called The Angel now and still does real ale, and it has a award winning chef (so I've heard) TBH I just walk a bit further and go to the Marble Arch

Yes it was called the beer house and what a selction of beers it had plus a Juke box that was second to none for rock music, was shut for years and then rose again as the angel but no way as good as the original beer house but still a welcome addition to any pub crawl
ah happy days!

The Angel (Beer Engine as was) is in new (ish) hands again, and has toned down the food side of things in favour of the wet side. Does some great beers....and is ideally placed to enjoy both it and the Marble too....(and The Smithfield and Bar Fringe also within staggering distance) sadly that jukebox is no more......
