Real Madrid (A) Post Match Thread

we whacked out 100 million on a player in an area we are already overloaded. Then proceeded into the season without our main target a centre forward. And in them decisions the season will be defined. If we don't win the league the people behind them decisions should hang their heads in shame.

Yes the striker problem has hurt us, but I feel the left/back and cover is what we miss the most this season.
But it's not the right time to point fingers and play the blame game ? Losing does happen

We conceded 6 goals, the team is built to attack and we were found wanting defensively in both legs. Let's not forget that we fell away defensively against Liverpool in those two games as well. Perhaps we need full time full backs instead of midfield players in some games. All about finding a winning balance which is not easy, what works in the EPL obviously does not work in the CL. We need to adapt.

Thing which is troubling that at level scores - we only to score 1 goal in 30 minutes

It seemed the players or most of them forgot that - totally deflated

This makes me think of a Churchill quote just after he'd been defeated by Attlee in the 1945 General Election. His wife supposed to have said, consolingly, “Never mind, perhaps it's a blessing in disguise”. To which he is supposed to have replied, “Right at this moment, my dear, it seems to be very well disguised.”

I can’t believe what I witnessed last night mate. I doubt any of us could. Still in shock in all honesty! But at the end of the day we witnessed a crazy and brilliant semi final - sure some things could have gone better for us - but I couldn’t be any prouder of being a blue as I am this morning. Hope everyone - players and fans - can pick themselves up for a tough game at the weekend.

we lack leaders, true warriors that will step up when it's getting tougher. with 6 mins left the game was done but they all chilled out, that is where you need someone driving them on, focusing them.

the subs were the right thing to do, Kev was having his worse game for years, losing the ball every touch and getting more frustrated by the second

Mahrez had scored but done nothing else but give the ball away.

the defensive recruitment is costing us now, we have muddled along without a left-back for years, the player we rely on had a purple patch at the start of the season but has now reverted to type. We should have bought someone a long long time ago. I'm not getting on Grealish's back as i think players need a year in Pep's systems but the money spent on him should have been used on defence

Laporte can go for me, he isn't a leader, doesn't really have the steel for a center back. That falling down bollocks let the ref avoid booking their thug (how the hell he stayed on the pitch I have no idea)

Bernardo is amazing, we have to keep him here and happy

concerned by Phil but i think he is playing to instructions, he just never goes forward anymore

we need pace, we are just so slow all over the park, we lose walker and Sterling isn't up front and it's like watching walking football.

I've been a bit fed up with Walker for the last couple of months, some silly mistakes costing us goals but he stepped up last night, what a shift he put in, running on fumes at times against a proper speed merchant. the game changed when he went off for us, we looked a lot weaker

the first leg cost us, tie should have been done, we miss to many chances plain and simple. Hopefully Haaland will help us address this, he certainly isn't any worse than what we have already

One of the poorest examples of game management I've seen, especially from a top team. We fell apart and that is the sickener. Getting beat 3-1 over the course of the match in a different fashion would be disappointing but hey ho. To be in that position and crumble is quite honestly a complete joke.
