Real Madrid (A) Post Match Thread

Mundo Deportivo did the research and found out that only five minutes and 32 seconds were played out of the 15 minutes of second half extra time.

And the ref blew early on the MINIMUM 3 minutes he cherry-picked?!

Nothing to see here, move along…
Could have played for another hour and we wouldn’t have scored we were fucked

Now that I've (somewhat) emerged from the black cloud I've been in,some thoughts:

- Now we know what Gillingham and Bayern felt like
- The ref. was unquestionably pro Madrid. The wasted time in extra time was ridiculous. I can't imagine it was anything more nefarious than the crowd influencing him, though the Foden 'foul' on Militao was an absolute joke.
- That home crowd has probably been the 12th man that dragged Madrid back from the brink in this year's tournament. We have to face it. The Etihad atmosphere is nowhere close to that or even Anfield, though I don't know what can be done about it.
- If we had a dependable striker we would have already won the League and would be favourites in the Final against Liverpool

I will never criticise our Club, our Manager or our Players for where we are. We should have won it in the first leg and then Real Madrid did not have a shot on target for 90 mins FFS! Shit happens. It felt great FOR us in 2012. It hurts like hell in 2022.

We will come back stronger, but right now, no negativity please. The team needs everyone of us to give them a lift for the remaining games.

If you can kick Kev from behind without getting a card (last night and the Liverpool league game) teams will do it.
KDBs ankles are clearly targeted but what was worse was the scissors aspect to it. You just don't do that unless you're not right upstairs. Wonder what professionals really think about that.kind of cunts trick? I know what you'd get on a Sunday morning.

I only had the courage to watch the brief highlights once and I thought the City player got the ball before he got Benzema's front foot who then left his other leg trailing to make sure he fell over. How many times have we had penalties denied because the defender touched the ball first?
Guaranteed if city had won that, BT would have scrutinised it to fuck, as it was, it was just accepted as a penalty, even seemingly by city players.

the left back is interesting.....I know we can say very little on this as there is an ongoing legal case but it would suggest that Mendy aint returning.

For me we needed a left back the year after Mendy joined as he clearly was really poor defensively so good news that we are looking for someone
It’s quite possible that Mendy will be acquitted. But even if he is that wouldn’t necessarily mean the club had to take him back. It’s not disputed that he repeatedly breached his bail conditions, eventually being remanded in custody, thereby making himself unavailable to play. Irrespective of the eventual verdict, wouldn’t that justify the club releasing him?

A new LB clearly has to be a priority

He’s definitely been found guilty of being an absolutely fucking dog shit useless clown of a footballer, regardless of anything else.

At least Mangala and Bony can have a huge sigh of relief that they’re no longer the worst signings in the 128 year history of this football club
