Real Madrid (A) | Post Match Thread

If you read other posts youd see yes i agreed carvajal got away without a yellow. However so did rodri. At least 2 fouls on their breakaways in second half could easily have had a booking for. Bernardo studs in back of camavingas calf also given no yellow. Agreed it was accidental but if hed given red it wouldnt have been overturned.

Gundo was a nailed yellow, hacked him down on edge of the area. He knew it and apologies to the other city players.

The ref wasnt swayed by the real players surrounding him for our goal, nor when they wanted a few penalty shouts. Could have easily given the grealish handball based on what we saw in munich.

No ref performance is perfect but he was pretty balanced and thats what matters.

Take the tinted specs off occassionally its a bright world out there.
I don’t think he was bias because of the number of city favoured incidents you just mentioned. But those incidents added to the terrible decisions against city just prove that he was just shit and not fit to ref a semi final of this stature. This added to the cheating opposition and the pressure of playing in that stadium in a game like this make last nights outcome a bloody brilliant result. Well done City

Agreed. Fine/Balanced/Shit - whatever
But not bias against city

bollox to them, ungratefull moaning twats dont understand the game, anything but a 4-0 win and the toys are out of the pram, were better off without them mate
Yeah been thinking about what makes those people and it must just be a lack of understanding.

Like someone else said they're the PlayStation generation.

I've just watched some of the highlights from last night and Madrid moaning about the ball being out is Daft ?
a couple of things are the officials or VAR did not think it was out, and the biggest thing for me is Madrid won the ball back and give it away, so it was 2nd transition and even if it was out you had the ball back,

I don't think ANYONE is slagging us off for conceding. If there is any criticism to be had (and I think it's valid criticism personally) then it is for us not doing enough with the ball when we had it. I don't think it was a poor performance, but I don't think it was outstanding either, by our standards. It's a decent result for sure, but nothing to be "buzzing" about, which is the other end of supporters' emotions on here.
I'd disagree Chippy. To go there and play the way we normally would, would have been an uneccesary risk considering the strenghts of Real, being away and playing in heat we don't normally play in.

I think pep wanted us to control the game (which in the main we did) and not go gung ho looking for chances and risk losing possession too often.

I think you will see our normal selves next wed

For an objective non-City view - I came into work this morning and to a man (and woman) that game was thoroughly enjoyed last night. Mainly United and Liverpool supporters, but they thought it was an excellent game with two stunning goals.
United supporters saying the ref was very lenient on them first half and that could have had a bearing on the result.

I think Real played in 2nd or 3rd gear for all of the first half and much of the second.
Unlike last year's first leg they decided to be more compact this time and deny us any space as they feared in an open game city can really hurt them and city weren't prepared to go all out either so we saw a cagey game and got the desired result. Not getting out of 2nd and 3rd gear usually refers to a team under performing, it's not when you're made to do so.

Would they be complaining if they had won it back which they did,but went up the other end and scored themselves..
