Well, they rely on the atmosphere to gain advantage. Same as Liverpool. They'll try to copy Liverpool and have periods of dominance. It depends on us whether we will allow it. Our pass completion at Anfield was a bit average. We should do better this time in order to control the game. Kovacic/Grealish instead of Alvarez should help. All of KDB, Foden and Haaland should do better too.
Hopefully it’ll just fire us up even more. A couple of early goals and you’ll only hear Blues, amplified.

Looking forward to this

We need to be shit hot in possession against these and minimise any sloppy play. If we play anything like the first half of the Palace game the other day we will get a shoeing. There's no way that Madrid forward line won't capitalise, especially with no Walker. Akanji is no slouch though.

That aside, if we're near our best, we are simply a better team than them. That's not to underestimate them, I just believe we are better.

It's a knockout competition too, it doesn't really do them any favours to park the bus in their home leg like other teams do. So they should come out and play and that's better for us. If they do try to park the bus in their home leg then that's pathetic.

A draw tonight wouldn't be the end of the world though.

Seems like the roof will indeed be closed, shouldn’t make much of a difference but bizarre UEFA allowed it
If it's anything like the Principality in Cardiff it'll make a huge difference.
With the roof closed in Cardiff it's intimidating as fuck & every noise is amplified.

Madrid are terrifed of City, actually the way they play and will be forced to play by their fans actually plays into Citys hands. Haaland will have much more space to run in behind as well and Kev will pick him out. Just need to be clever during first half, no silly fouls as the ref no doubt will be giving City yellow cards no problem. Any draw for me here then bring them back to Manchester for a pasting.

Remember this...?

Spanish fans especially Real are not the most intimidating, most are tourists anyway. Doubt this will cause Citys players too much concern.

Tbf, the atmosphere helped them a lot to turn the tie in 21/22. But we had less experience and confidence back then. Hopefully the atmosphere will help our players to give everything.
