If we're including; Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Bayern, Inter, Real, Atletico, Barca, PSG. Then it's August 2024 last season 2-0 at Stamford Bridge.

If we're talking the top sides of the last few years; Arsenal, Liverpool, Bayern, Inter, Real, Barca, PSG. Then it's the 3-1 Arsenal win in the treble season, Feb 2023.

It's been a while.

We weren't at all competitive at the Bernabau last season, one of the few games we'd written off before it had even started. Didn't even do that in the smashing at the Emirates last season.
Tbf, I didn’t think we stood a chance at The Emirates this season either but the team showed a bit of fight and character getting a point (and nearly all three) there so that gives me a bit of hope.

I think I had us down for a draw there but I meant more the attitudes of the players too, we looked defeated from the moment it kicked off against Real last season.

I know they’ve got a few injuries at the moment but I’m not particularly confident with this one, and our away form in general, which needs addressing imo:

Wolves 1-4 City
Brighton 2-1 City
Arsenal 1-1 City
Huddersfield 0-2 City
Monaco 2-2 City
Brentford 0-1 City
Villarreal 0-2 City
Villa 1-0 City
Swansea 1-3 City
Newcastle 1-0 City
Fulham 4-5 City

Forgetting the carabao games, we’ve won 4 from 9 against Wolves, Brentford, Villarreal and Fulham, and in a couple of those we were really clinging on.

…Real Madrid 1-4 City ;)

Wolves was 0 4

If we play our strongest XI and Pep doesn’t force the weaker B-team players like Bobb, Savio or Lewis, I expect a comfortable win. Our best starting XI is much stronger than theirs in my opinion.
Think it's a bit unfair to lump Lewis in with the other dead wood ,he's not been bad in midfield unlike the other 2

Camavinga out too apparently:

-------------------Courtois
Asencio--Rudiger--Carreras--Garcia
-----------Valverde----Tchouameni
Guler-----------Bellingham-------Vini Jr
-------------------Mbappe

Same back 4 as last night but Rudiger for Militao and they were awful, so hopefully they do that.

Maybe Valverde right to cover Asencio and move Guler inside.

Has Alaba ever played football in his career? He seems to have been permanently injured from when he first came on the scene at Bayern.

Sounds like the Madrid Circus is in town with the board looking to use this game as a barometer on whether to sack Alonso or not

Could go either way, easy win for us with the players throwing him under a bus or backs against the wall from them and a gritty well fought win

If we can get on top early we should be able to beat them

Kind of how I feel tbh. Arsenal are currently a lot tougher opposition than Madrid also.

I fancy us to get something.

We stand a chance against any team when Rodri is available (he played at Arsenal). His influence on the team is really big.

We are now much better than last season, so I hope we can get a result at Bernabeu without Rodri. I think we have the best attack in the world together with Barca. Madrid have top forwards as well, but in Doku and Cherki we have better creators.

It all comes down to belief for me when we play here. We played with total fear last season and didn't lay a glove on them, I don't want to see that this time round. We just have to attack simple as that because we're not keeping a clean sheet
That’s one of the reasons we’ve come undone at Klanfield over the years. We’ve fallen into the trap of playing the occasion rather than playing the game.

Real are a bit of a mess at the moment, we shouldn’t fear them at all.

Just glad I’m not there having been the last two seasons. More plastic fans that Trafford fc and a similar position to level 7 Newcastle but with fucking netting obscuring your view, plus an hour and a quarter kept in after the game, horrible football experience. The crack in the square is decent though. Usually missing a game makes me regretful I’m not there, the Betnabau can fuck off, plastic white shirted cunts

Haven't beaten them in the last four meetings, though one could argue that we were on the slide after giving them that 4-0 hammering in 2022. As such, this game should give a good indication of where we now are in our climb. Care less about the score line tomorrow night but just hope we give them a Roland for an Oliver.
