Why is pep sticking with laporte?
Laporte doesn't smell danger and doesn't try to avert it. Vinicuis just ran all the way from centre line. He has No chemistry with Dias.
Dias should rather be the sweeper if pep intend to play both.

He stood aloof, For the goal Watford scored last weekend. Absent minded in picking up jota in Liverpool goal

What a game and pleased that we at least got the victory. Game should have been wrapped up by half time though. Had we gone 3-0 up, I don’t think that Madrid would have shown so much fighting spirit. Too many chances missed and poor defending cost us the result we deserved. Pressure is more on them in the 2nd leg. They are a goal down and I feel that we are a far better team overall. Good atmosphere and thought that we got behind the lads from the start.

That’s the point though. Their penalties will need to be perfect to beat the keeper as long as the keeper goes the right way. They won‘t always beat the keeper.
A penalty shoot out would never finish 11-10 if the keeper always goes the right way. That’s my argument

It's not a question. Gundogan unplayable when kdb injured in the past. Kdb needs the weekend off. We have enough to win the game without him. We could lose with him, draw with him, or win without him, that's the margins of the prem. He needs to have his feet in an ice bucket at half 5 this Saturday. Let the rest of them deal with it.

I was there - my thoughts entirely - so dominant and yet so vulnerable. Can't bring myself to watch the recording. It really does feel like a defeat. Great for the neutral. We go a goal in front and it's in our DNA to keep throwing the kitchen sink at the opposition as though we're in search of an equaliser like we do in the Prem, but in this case we're up against world class players. Same when we go two in front - we leave gaps. Easy to say that we should have had layers of players to piss off Madrid with. Missed Kyle - he would have dealt with VJ.

Many of us felt exactly the same leaving Wycombe, scoreline isn’t ca reflection of game but ah well

It was a great game guys, City played BIG football against one of the strongest and experienced teams in the world football and got a positive result..

And this happened while Walker and Cancelo - two our most important players in defense and in attack - were injured..

Walker is the cornerstone against counter-attacks and Cancelo is like playmaker, who always takes the most risks and tries to score the goal or assist and etc. So even without these guys, we were same City and even better I think, cause this City is about a team and being an unit on the pitch, doing your best to contribute and win..

So, I'm sure Pep is proud, owners are proud, fans are proud and what's more important -> players are proud of themselves..

And these positive vibes will help us against Leeds away game and at Bernabeu as well..

Pressure is on city. They need to win away. If at etihad they can score 3 you think they won't score 5 in madrid

Whilst of course we should have finished them off, we played with a massively weakened back line and it cost us. We will murder them at their place with some pace at the back. They can’t live with us.
